If the last episode was any indication, it seems that everyone got shuffled around. Unfortunately for Fubuki, she finds herself in a fleet where nobody could get along. Can she turn it around or is it a lost cause?
To me, I did not expect a reorganization, but it happened. Apparently, everyone got shuffled around in preparation for the next offensive to neutralize the Abyssal Fleet. I have a strong feeling that the Admiral purposely put Fubuki on a temporary assignment from last time to see if the plan was going to work or not. Apparently it did and now, the Admiral put her in a group that has members that won’t cooperate with each other.
As for the fifth raid squadron she got assigned to, it looked like a disaster. With Kongou being the only girl who Fubuki can rely on, I thought the fleet was going to fall apart instantly. In this squadron, you have Ooi and Kitakami being delighted that they are in the same fleet with the former acting cold to everyone else. Also, you have Kaga and Zuikaku fighting with each other in the other room. Just like in real life, there are always going to be people who you won’t get along with. However, one shouldn’t give up that easily since it might work out in the end and it did.
Even though it was funny to see them try to duke it out for the flagship position, which apparently gives an additional bonus in stats along with 50% more experience in the actual game, it’s clear that the Admiral wanted a fleet that didn’t get along with each other so that they can have Fubuki become the flagship. Yep, it’s a plan to make Fubuki more powerful. After all, many of her peers said that she has a lot of potential. From the short battle, it just shows how much she improved in five episodes.
Compared to the last episode, although there wasn’t a lot of comedy besides the fighting, there were some nice moments such as Fubuki and the others promising that they will remember the times they had together even if they are separated. Of course, you cannot forget Akagi since Fubuki still have strong feelings for her. In fact, the mere mentioning of Akagi’s name has stopped Kaga and Zukaku from fighting after the battle. Apparently, Akagi taught Kanga how to make a towel rabbit and now, Zukaku wants to learn how to make it from Kanga. Still, I’m glad that everything worked out for everyone in the end.
I’m actually hoping the admiral shuffles the squadrons some more later on, that’ll help give some of the other ships some fair amount of screentime.
Hopefully so and it seems that the recent episodes is finally taking the focus on the other ship girls, at least for now at least.
