Yep, It has been a busy week considering that I have midterms. Hopefully next week’s weekly digest will come earlier next weekend.
Ore Twintail ni Narimasu
Oddly enough, this show continues to be very enjoyable despite the rather crazy premise. Apparently, Souji and Aika find out from Thouare that Elemerians live off trait powers and the twin tail trait is the strongest. If they are not defeated in 24 hours, the victims who have these traits snatched away will lose them forever. While it seem crazy, Souji’s mom pretty much hits it out of the park by allowing Touare to have her son so he can live her dream as Tail Red that she had to give up: becoming a super heroine. Yep, she is crazy, but amusing at the same time. Not only that, Elemerians playing Jenga was just completely random.
On the other hand, it’s amazing that Tail Red is already being treated as an idol. Besides those Elemerians that want a piece of her, Souji’s classmates are already obsessing over her. Of course, there is Erina who is already in love with Tail Red. I find this amusing for the fact that Erina’s and Tail Red’s voice actresses are Akasaki Chinatsu and Uesaka Sumire. (Yep, there is some connection there as they voiced Nibutani Shinka and Dekimori Sanae respectively from Chuunibyou, the same two girls that have some romantic feelings for each other. Also, Uchida Maaya voices Thouare.)
Besides having fan girls squeal for Tail Red after she saved them from an invader, it makes me wonder if Souji as Tail Red actually enjoys this attention. Either way, it seems that Tail Blue joins the fray next time and I look forward to that.
Shirobako
Besides having one of the animation directors collapsing from being overworked, it seems that the director wants to make last-minute changes to improve the story without realizing the risks associated. This change can succeed or fail. Besides how the voice recording is done, I felt that this episode basically shows that directors usually have a creative vision of what the show supposed to be. However, they are bad at planning it out. Even with his speech, it just shows that directors can make things tough for the production staff having to make these sudden changes on a tight schedule.
Last Week’s APR
- Fate Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works
- Amagi Brilliant Park
- Ore, Twintail ni narimasu
- Shirobako
I would not want to be the director or producer of an anime though the possibility of the creations my team and I drew magically coming to life in a ray of pink light does sound somewhat tempting.
Yep, I have to admit… that scene looked really pretty and amazed me when I saw it.
