Since Bazett used her secret weapon against Miyu, will Illya and Kuro be able to fend her off?
While Miyu put up a good fight, I was right about Bazett’s weapon. Since Miyu decided used Rider’s Noble Phantasm instead of normal attacks, she basically allowed Bazett to take her down. Thank goodness she didn’t die from that attack since it wasn’t her Noble Phantasm. At the same time, her defeat puts Illya and Kuro at a huge disadvantage with no viable options to defeat Bazett except to distract her until Illya is able to fully apply the curse on her that Rin started.
In the end, they made a truce with Bazett since Rin knows where the 8th card is located. I think the girls done a good job neutralizing her with a curse despite losing half the cards (excluding the Archer card). While it’s sad to see the show end without the promised beach episode Illya’s friends was talking about, there is some good news. They already announced a 3rd season or rather, a continuation 2wei that will air next year. Considering that the first part only focused on Kuro and Bazett, I’m not surprised at all. Hopefully, the wait won’t be that long this time around.
Final Thoughts
While the 2nd season maintains all the enjoyable aspects of the prequel, I felt that Silver Link has done a better job this time around with the animation quality. While 2wei is more light-hearted considering that the girls collected most of the cards, the battles still managed to be exciting. Aside from that, it’s safe to say that the 2nd part of 2wei will be just as enjoyable and exciting when it finally airs.
Overall Rating: 8.8/10, B+, Very Good
Miyu for MVP of the season.
Bazett was yet another kung-fu hottie in a business suit. Women tend to always pull off the badass suit look quite well.
I demand a beach party episode premiere featuring Luvia and Leysritt wearing two-pieces! Maybe Rin too as she had done so before.
Yep, I agree that Miyu did well this season. But hopefully Rin and Luvia will show up in the first episode of the beach episode.
