Summer Break has finally comes to an end with the final semester in college starting.
Glasslip
At this point, I feel that this show still doesn’t know what it wants to be because it seems to be doing many things at the same time. It’s mostly because Touko and Kakeru still have no idea what are the fragments are about. I think PA Works is making the show needlessly complex just for the sake of drama.
Aside from the confusion, there are two things that stood out in this episode. It appears that Yanagi is trying to make Hina more attractive in Yuki’s eyes by offering a dress. Also, Sacchi admits vaguely that she has romantic feelings for Touko. Poor Hiro, it seems that he is being used as a tool. Regardless, I still think she still sees him as best friends despite their misunderstandings.
Hanayamata
Thankfully, the drama with Naru messing up on stage was resolved rather quickly as she receives support from her friends to pick herself right up. While Hana gets a cold and gets over it rather quickly, the focus was on Machi not getting along with her older sister, Sally. She still feels bitter over Sally abandoning her in order to pursue her own dreams against their parent’s will. Now, she is afraid that the same will happen to Tami and the others.
While I understand why she feels that way but at the same time, she doesn’t know what her older sister actually wanted to do even though it was somewhat obvious. Fortunately, Tami calmed her down and told the truth about Sally wanting to become a teacher.
Despite Sally’s flaws, it’s quite obvious that she genuinely cares about her younger sister and doesn’t want to betray anyone ever again. This is probably why she applied to become a teacher at the same school her younger sister is attending along with passing an exam to become a permanent one. Then again, it wouldn’t make sense for Sally to betray the Yosakoi club. After all, she put a lot of work to make the group somewhat successful.
Free Eternal Summer
The regionals are here and Haruka is feeling out of it since he has no idea about his future. When the pressure was too much to handle, he basically gave up during his heart. He feared that the pressure from scouts has made him forgot how to be free. While Haruka lashing out on Rin was the tipping point, I still believe that he still wants to swim professionally. I just think that he needs some support from his friends and realize that he doesn’t need to change anything. Perhaps Makoto’s desire to be scouted might convince Haruka to resolve his feelings about the whole thing.
As for Sousuke, it seems that he is in a rough position as his shoulder injury is becomes more apparent. It’s only a matter of time until Rin finds out and suddenly replaces him with someone else on the team. Hopefully, it will be a wakeup call for him that he is overworking himself.
Will give Glasslip a go after it ends. It certainly looks more approachable than Nagi no Asakura.
You already know my thoughts on Hanayamata and what was my highlight. Other than that hurray for Sally and Tami making up.
While Glasslip doesn’t have a lot of melodrama as Nagi no Asukara, I feel that it’s a step down. I’m still trying to figure out what the show is about. Perhaps it’s the worst PA Works show I seen, but of course, it won’t top Tari Tari, which is probably the best from the studio I have seen so far.
