I bet a lot of people are wondering why most Japanese songs have English words. They do it because it’s cute and cool.
Glasslip – Episode 3
After the show spent two episodes trying to figure out what it wants to be, it’s finally going somewhere with the third episode focusing on a hiking trip. From the looks of it, apparently Touko can foresee the future and it doesn’t look pretty. While I wonder if she will regret her choice of not going out with Yuki, this show now feels like a mediocre slice of life with some romance tacked on. Either way, at least Hiro is getting somewhere with Sachi.
Hanayamata – Episode 3
Yep, this show still continues to impress. Besides the James Bond parody at the beginning, which is perhaps the funniest and most random way to start an episode, I find Hana’s enthusiasm for everything Japan rather pleasing, especially during her time with Yaya. Aside from Hana complaining about having to wear boy’s clothing and Yaya’s tsundere tendencies, it seems like they are getting along with each other. Perhaps it’s a bit too much since their time together caused them to miss a movie, which in turn made Naru jealous and upset. Yep, Hana is apparently making a harem of her own!
Aside from the fluff, it seems that Hana’s dream of forming a Yosakoi club has become a lot harder than she initially thought since she still doesn’t have four members. Despite the setback, I think they will pull through. After all, they only need one more member if Yaya approves.
Free Eternal Summer – Episode 3
From the last season, I felt that Rei was underappreciated since he wasn’t as skilled compared to the others and is mostly there for comedy. Sure, he can do the butterfly, but it seems that he wants to become better so that the team can do their best in the nationals. While some of the misunderstandings are funny, especially Gou thinking that Rei has a girlfriend, I’m glad that Rin spent the time to teach him as a repayment for what happened last summer. At least it shows that Rei is in it 100%.
