Yep, love is already in the air and we are only in the second week of the summer anime season.
Glasslip Episode 2
While I still have mixed feelings about the show, I admit that the second episode was a slight improvement from the first with a sudden confession coming from Yuki when he told Touko that he loves her. Of course, the love triangle becomes complicated with Yanagi having romantic feelings for him too. Then again, when Touko finally opened the can of worms by lifting the dating/relationship ban, hell finally broke loose. With Sachi being overprotective, I just wonder how things go from here in regards to the whole love triangle thing.
Hanayamata Episode 2
I admit that I still enjoy Hana’s personality energetic personality. Given how close they gotten in a short period of time, I’m not surprised by Yaya’s jealousy since she is Naru’s friend from the beginning. This can explain her cold attitude towards Hana believing that she will take Naru away. Thankfully, she calmed down a bit after watching their performance even though Naru still have a long way until she becomes good at dancing.
Still, I don’t get why Naru needs to go to such extremes and delete her browsing history. It’s not like she has something to hide from Hana, right?
Free Eternal Summer – Episode 2
From the looks of it, I am right about Sosuke being Haruka’s rival. His preference to swim freestyle while coming close to beating him says something. However, the thing that surprised me the most is how vicious he is. When he cornered Haruka, he outright said not to interfere with Rin. This just shows how vicious he is. He is basically Rin 2.0. Either way, it will be interesting to see how heated the rivalry will be between the two.
Opposed to Uchōten Kazoku or NagiAsu that I immediately latched onto, Glasslip does seem to be going nowhere. Everything just seems too be stagy and pacing isn’t helping either, but still willing to watch it to the end. On the other hand, Hanayamata is very enjoyable…more than I thought it would be.
I do agree since it does feel that Glasslip is basically throwing some stuff in the pot and say it’s the final product. After watching the second episode, we never heard about the chickens ever again. If the romantic developments is done in a similar way as in not going anywhere past unrequited love or one pair reaching an actual relationship by the end of the show’s run, it will be disappointing.
Aside from that, I do agree that Hanayamata is still very enjoyable since I enjoy every minute of it so far.
Thought the chickens were a one time only deal, lol. After watching the 3rd episode yesterday, it just seems to be all over the place and wish it would actually get down to addressing the future foresight thing. There using it, but side stepping it at the same time. Not even sure what was the point of the 3rd episode was other than showing that reoccurring vision and something happening to Sachi.
After seeing the third episode, I agree that the show is still over the place. To me, I would rather see PA Works finally deciding what the show is going to be. To me, I would rather have it be a slice of life with the romantic aspect being focused less. Even so, it will be interesting to see what they will do with Touko’s future sightseeing thing in future episodes as it will most likely play a big part, somehow.
“Engage mega hype for Yaya’s challenge for Naru’s heart in 3, 2, 1…”
This comment was recorded 6 days ago and the hype meter to the challenge has not yet finished counting down, making yours truly impatient with desire to see magic and love in the air.
At least it’s something to look forward to in the next few episodes… From the look of Episode 3, it looks like there is going to be more fun moments.
Indeed there were…
