Did Izuna actually beat Sora and Shiro with the help of her “Blood Destruction” ability? Well…
From the look of it, it looks like Sora and Shiro was going to lose against Izuna since she activated her special ability that warebeasts have that allows her to break the boundary of physics. From the look of it, she actually managed to shoot them own without realizing that Stephanie remains to defeat her from behind. Essentially, Sora took advantage of how the NPCs work to direct the unconscious Stephanie to Izuna. To me, I’m quite impressed how they managed to predict the future to have Izuna use up her energy so that Stephanie can come in and give her the final blow. At least Stephanie proved herself to be useful for once.
As a whole, I’m glad that at least Sora and Shiro is merciful enough to allow the warebeasts to maintain their rule while creating a big empire of their own by forcing a tie in a coin toss. Still, I suppose that Sora and Shiro find Miko (that is her actual name) pretty looking and the fact they like animal eared girls that they didn’t want to defeat her. I wonder, what is her actual name? I guess we won’t find out until the next season, which will probably focus on them challenging the Elves and other races. I guess the Elves will be at a disadvantage since Sora altered Feel’s memories, thus she now has false information about the warebeast’s game.
Final Impressions
While some people felt disappointed because No Game No Life is not a serious show about gaming, I’m surprised how enjoyable the games were. Sure, they are ridiculous at times, especially the Materialization Shitori with Jibril, it still manages to be surprisingly intelligent. Sora and Shiro basically explains how they managed to outsmart their opponent and turn the tables on them to win. Not only that, I enjoyed all the characters along with the various gaming and anime references. Overall, I felt that No Game No Life is very enjoyable and interesting watch and I won’t mind another season, although it will probably be a while before it happens.
Overall Rating: 9.0/10, A, Very Good
