Rikka and Yuuta finally go on a class trip along with Shinka. Will their relationship finally advance? Maybe.
Since the first episode of the sequel, the relationship between Rikka and Yuuta has made very little progress. Sure, we got to see them date each other and Rikka becoming jealous because Satone flirted with him, but many people, especially Shinka is still surprised that their relationship has gone nowhere. I think people need to realize that the reason why their relationship is developing slowly is because Rikka is more focused on her Chuunibyou rather than on love.
Thankfully, there were some developments that happened during the trip that I was happy about. Rikka manages to sneak into the room Yuuta was staying, hid under the blankets with each other and almost kissed on the lips before they got interrupted. However, she kisses him on the cheeks shortly afterwards. While I admit that it was an endearing scene to look at, at least they are finally showing some apparent romantic feelings for each other.
As Rikka finally takes a step forward in advancing her feelings towards Yuuta, I still wonder what is up with Satone. She still feels like a side character to me. I hope she will have some role in helping their relationship or even become a rival for Rikka. Nevertheless, I still find Shinka showing some aspects of Mori Summer rather amusing for the fact that she is still holding it back after Sanae spilled the beans and even created a website for her! I have a feeling that one of these days, Shinka will eventually accept her Chuunibyou self just like Yuuta and give up her dreams of being normal.
Since it’s now the halfway point (assuming this season is one cour like the first), I hope their relationship actually does go somewhere.
I hope too that their relationship will develop even further. Who knows, Satone might be the person that will make it happen.
