I’m feeling sleepy… Maybe it’s time to take a nap in order to save the club from being disbanded.
As expected, it seems that the director wanted to focus on the side characters before getting into the main story. This time, the spotlight is on Kumin as Rikka and the others face a possible threat of having their clubroom taken away. To save it, they do a napping competition. The very idea of having one is just crazy, especially when the Siesta Club claims that they take napping very seriously. I highly doubt it.
Although Rikka took a big risk by making a bet, I think it paid off in the end since we finally get to see some of Kumin’s ideas on how she prepares for a napping contest. I admit that it was fun watching them play card games and video games all night long before the big day. The funny thing is that they could have just done nothing since Kumin managed to defeat the other school quite easily.
While this episode is obvious filler, people are starting to wonder if this show is lacking any direction. From the look of it, I don’t think there will be another filler episode for the fact that all the side characters have their moment in the spotlight while Satone settled in. While she shows up for a bit in this episode and flirts with Yuuta, maybe the real action will happen next week. We’ll see.
I think that we’re going to get many more fillers. I doubt they’ll go with drama until the last 3-4 episodes…*nods*
I’m afraid that will happen…. Then again, who knows, but I want to see more of Satone… she is not getting enough screen time!
I don’t particularly mind these fillers since they give the supporting cast a moment to shine, the lack of which was a flaw in the first season. Compared to last week’s episode though, this one stood out to me just for the fact that I was really thinking “Is this episode SERIOUSLY about napping?!” in the middle of it all.
I agree that an episode about napping did felt somewhat out of place, but at least it was very enjoyable. Even so, I still think the second season is still great nevertheless as it still maintains the feeling of the prequel without the drama (the drama in the last few episodes of the prequel felt out of place for a lighthearted show like this). As said earlier, I wish Satone had more screentime.
