As it seems, Saber looks like the final boss that Miyu and Illya can’t possibly defeat.
After the impressive conclusion to the battle against Caster, it was surprising to see Saber coming out of nowhere and launching a surprise attack. Because of this, it’s clear that Miyu couldn’t land an effective attack against her. Still, I can understand why Illya would feel scared, thus unable to move since she never dealt with such a strong opponent before. Nevertheless, I think most of this has to do with the girls’ lack of experience since both just became magical girls recently. When I saw Rin and Luvia started fighting against Saber, it feels like a day and night difference.
On the other hand, it’s somewhat clear that Rin and Luvia had to borrow magical powers from Ruby and Sapphire in order to defeat Saber. In comparison to Miyu and Illya, they know how to take down Saber and even break her mist. In the fight, Rin fought physically while Luvia set up a final attack to give Saber a final blow. From this, it makes me wonder if Illya and Miyu will learn something useful they can use in future battles. I think so, especially for the fact that they can become injured. Even so, this show still manages to surprise and make the battles look exciting since Madoka last aired.
It’s pretty interesting that Illya has another magical form….
Although I wouldn’t compare the series with Madoka itself. They’re entirely different. This series is pretty much an alternative universe still following the main Fate style (like the same action style) in a alternative way with some magical girl influence.
Of course the series are very different, but still it’s probably the most enjoyment I have seen from a magical girl show for a long time since 2011. Not only that, I enjoyed Fate/zero, which is the reason I picked this up and so far, it manages to be interesting.
Well, let’s see what will happen in the sixth episode. Looking forward to see Illya go serious against Saber…*__*
I think she will surpass Miyu, but hopefully she will have the trump card to defeat Saber once and for all.
