I wonder, will Rei master swimming in a week? I hope so…
Believe it or not, this episode was very entertaining as the boys prepare for their first tournament. Kou shows how determined she is to see the boys succeed by writing down a regimen for the boys to follow. It just shows that she is a strong leader since the boys already know how to swim besides Rei; they just need a little guidance. Not only that, they manage to make the swimsuit shopping rather hilarious considering that it’s perhaps the first time we see guys shopping for swimsuits. It’s something different considering that we always see females shop for them. Not only that, Kou was obsessing how good the boys look in all these swimsuits, until she got burnt out.
On the other hand, watching Rei learn how to swim was also enjoyable. It seems that he got the hang of it at first, but ends up sinking down into the pool. I think the reason why he is failing because he is worried about the swimming. After he gets some advice from Haruka to stop thinking about it is when Rei became able to do it. Hopefully from this, we should expect more from him when he begins to swim competitively.
With Rei’s being able to swim, things are looking better for the new swim team. While the rivalry between Rin and Haruka has been taking the back seat so far, Rin finally revealed that he couldn’t move on until he gets a real race from Haruka. From this reveal, I think things will heat up later on once the first tournament begins. Either way, I’m still excited to see how this rivalry will develop.
It took me…two weeks of daily training to finally learn how to properly swim when I was an 8 year old apprentice of yuridom. With the new episode premiering this week, much excitement is expressed by yours truly.
I never been able to swim well, even though I got swimming lessons. On the other hand, my sister swam decently, but she eventually forgot it all. :p
