With the commander passed away and Ridget becoming the successor, Amy and Ledo separating from each other is now unavoidable.
There wasn’t much plot advancement except for the mourning of the commander after he passes away from a heart attack. Now, Ridget feels frustrated with other people splitting away from Gargantia for their own goals. Because of this, I feel sympathetic for her because she perceives herself a failure of a leader when fleets decided to break apart. I don’t blame her. Let them desert Gargantia face danger that awaits them. Thankfully, some people are smart enough came back and rally for Ridget. Hopefully, they will make Gargantia stronger than before.
After the emotional mourning of the Commander and Ridget letting her hair down, I think things will get worse. Since we now know that Ledo is stuck on Earth forever, he has to face the dilemma with the Whalesquids. Are they bad or good? Considering that Ledo manufactured this whole crisis in the first place, I hope that he changes his mind or pray that he can eradicate all of them before they multiply. Either way, we are in for some more deaths before the big finale, where Melty and Ledo will probably come back alive and reunite. Still, I think we will see a lot of suffering before we see some kind of resolution. So, get your tissue box ready, you are going to need it.
