Kud probably made the wrong decision… or did she?
I thought it was a bad idea for Riki pushing Kud to return to the island. Then again, I’m surprised that they also told the story from Kud’s viewpoint since the visual novel is always told from Riki’s point of view. This was the case with the visual novel, which I haven’t finished. Of course, they took the romantic aspect away from this adaptation, which evidently changes how her story goes.
On the other hand, I just felt bad for Kud. She basically runs away and managed to get chained by some rebels after she got caught. The one thing that shocked me is that they strip her naked, leaving only the cape and cap. Does this implies that she got raped or something? Not only that, the rebel’s reason to overthrow the government sounds pretty lame. They felt that the space program is a waste of resources. Yeah, that is a weak reason to commit violence. Still, I felt somewhat mixed on how they handled the gears thing as it lacked emotional impact and it felt rushed. Not only that, they didn’t show her talking to her mom, which is kind of disappointing if you think about it. At least she is alive though.
While Kud fulfills her promise of returning to Japan, I wonder what will happen in the last few episodes. It’s clear that they won’t be able to cover everything since they haven’t touched upon Yuiko and Rin. From the look of it, I think they will focus on the secret of the world as indicated from that notebook a girl handed to Riki.
How was the Kud route? I dropped this show after Komari’s route which I felt wasn’t up to par. Looks like Kud’s route looks better though.
Mio’s, Haruka’s and Kud’s arc were slightly better than Komari’s, but still far from perfect compared to the adaptations Kyoto Animation did… Then again, it’s JC Staff, so I can’t really expect much (and I haven’t finished the VN yet, so I don’t know how far away is it.)
Still wish KyoAni would’ve picked it up. It looks like they’ve moved to a different angle now, it seems…
Kud is a interesting character and all, but what the hell was with the teliporting gear magic trick? Seriously? That was freaking CRAZY!! That said, I guess these things happen in the key-verse right? I guess I will blame the power of friendship and all that xD
Is Riki the FINAL arc? I think I already have been spoiled on his story, but I wont say muhahahahah
The Deus ex Machina thing always seem to get viewers confused. I haven’t played the VN, so I don’t know the full effect of it, but Key is always known for the supernatural. Clannad After Story had the same thing, but it leaves out a single detail of Tomoya collecting the lights so that Nagisa and Ushio would survive.
From the looks of it, Rin might be the final arc, skipping over Yuiko? I don’t know, but it seems that they won’t fit everything.
Unlike the previous works of KEY. Everything magical in LB has a reason. Everything, even those who weren’t noticed yet but exists in previous episodes.
Also, Kurugaya, Rin and the ultimate arc will be in the next season.
It seems that way since they only found another part of the secret in Episode 24, no sign of Rin’s arc starting.
