Trouble ensues as the truth about Haruka is revealed.
In a way, this episode kind of bothered me a bit as Kanata always seem to come down on Haruka quite a lot. While there may be reasons why Haruka causes trouble, it seems that she is just making the problem worse by being hard on her. I haven’t played Haruka’s arc for obvious reasons, but it seems that she might have a history of child abuse. This can explain the behavior she shown and why she blew up in the disciplinary committee room. She was a ticking time bomb ready to explode and the committee definitely made things a lot worse. It took Yuiko to restrain her before it escalated any further.
On the other hand, there are instances where things gone over the top. One of these instances is the bench incident as the committee probably has arranged to destroy it just to instigate her. The other is spreading leaflets about her father behind a criminal. While that scene felt kind of rushed, it’s apparent that its one of the committee’s doing just to spread the hatred even further. Who else would have done such a thing? Of course, the organization that instigates her every time instead of providing help. From that, I concluded that this organization’s sole purpose is to bully Haruka out of existence and nothing else. I’m positive that none of the punishments had an effect on her since the problem is psychological.
After watching this episode, it’s already apparent that Kanata and Haruka are twins that got separated. It’s unfortunate that Haruka happens to get the wrong parent, which resulted in her to becoming like this. Then again, I think the whole family is messed up with the two husbands thing. Is the family promoting some kind of polygamy or something? Family issues aside, I have a bad feeling that the twins will never get back together for obvious reasons. It’s unfortunate since Kanata isn’t all that bad when she talked to Kud. Then again, we’ll see how this will play out in the next few episodes.
As we’ve seen in Kud’s small scene, Kanata isn’t exactly evil against anyone. She just has some reason to act in this way…and we need to discover that! 😀
You might be on to something, but hopefully the secret will be out when we get closer to the finale.
I have to agree with you about the way Kanata came down so harshly on Haruka. That was a bit painful to watch, so it is hard to imagine what kind of past they have that might have caused such antipathy.
Believe it or not, I had trouble seeing it unfold as they really came down at her, especially when the committee didn’t knew the trouble she went through in her childhood. Hopefully, we will see some closure to it and possibly the reason why Kanata was so harsh on her own sister in the first place. I’m suspecting that it’s family related, but we’ll see…
