There is no stopping the love train! It has already departed.
After the whole incident with Yuuta saving Rikka, the bond between the two got even stronger. After watching them eat together, walked under an umbrella and eventually confessed, it’s already an indication that she is finally getting out of the shell that kept her from accepting reality. No matter how many people want her to stay like she is, it’s bound to happen because she can’t keep living like this. Not only she is making her older sister worried, but her mother as well who still have memories of what happened to her fiancé. Because of that, she can’t face Rikka in her current state.
Thankfully, with Rikka singing her father’s favorite song and finally removing the eye patch that revealed a normal colored eye, this is a good sign that she finally gone out of her shell. I think the guilt inside of Yuuta in keeping the status quo made him feel bad for the fact that Touka and their mother is suffering because of this. That’s why he had to tell the harsh reality in front of her. Either way, it had to happen because love is what brings people back to reality.
Aside from the emotional scenes between the two, there were some comedic moments. The most notable was Shinka and her former classmates. It’s quite funny that both of them referred Shinka as “Mori Summer” in addition to retelling her embarrassing memories. In return, Shinka fired back by doing the same and it was hilarious. The other moment was Makoto’s confession. It looked like Kumin is more interested in her sleep rather than love. It’s such a shame to see him get Friendzoned instantly, but at least we got to see true love between Yuuta and Rikka as she shreds her 8th grade syndrome probably for good. Given my predictions, they will start acting like actual couples next time and even go out on an actual date. I’m totally excited.
*is unsure*
I wonder if she’ll actually get normal…:|
There is no denying that Yuuta’s influence has to do with it after the implications of her mother’s devastation after she lost her husband. Breaking out of the shell and becoming normal had to happen either way. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean that all her quirkiness will go away completely. It means that there will be some kind of balance where it serves as a hobby rather than taking complete control of her life. Either way, it’s quite obvious that her 8th grade syndrome isn’t her true self and it’s something she created shortly after her father’s death.
