It’s time to try out the new powers!
Believe it or not, the first battle between Signum and Vita that resulted in Nanoha’s and Fate’s defeat is meant to show the sheer strength of the enemy’s power. Since the Velka cartridge systems are now installed on Nanoha’s and Fate’s device, they just became insanely powerful. With this new power, they basically beat the pulp out of Signum and Vita to the point where they have to flee by using the Book of Darkness. While it’s disappointing that Nanoha and Fate didn’t defeat them. However, doing so would basically make the story end a bit too early.
On the other hand, we got to see a bit more of Hayate. Apparently, she is becoming good friends with Suzuka. However I think there is one thing that is becoming apparent. While she used to independent living rather early in life because her parents died for some unknown reason, it’s somewhat apparent that she wants a sense of belonging. Apparent in the phone call, she went over to Suzuka’s house because it got lonely making the stew only with her friend. Although the servants are merely programs created by the Book of Darkness, she regards them as her family. Maybe with her kindness, she might influence them in a more positive manner.
While the diversion was a complete failure, we learned more about the Book of Darkness in general along with the new powers Fate and Nanoha has. While the enemy looks weak in comparison now, the book is still powerful. After watching Shamal unleash the book’s power, it basically obliterated the powerful shield instantly. Just imagine how much power the book will unleash if all the pages get filled. It will basically spell apocalypse, which the Mayans can’t even predict. Either way, the plot thickens as the next episode focuses on the 2nd part of the mini-arc.
