As recovery commences, Fate attends her first day at her new school.
Believe it or not, a magical girl anime is not complete without a new girl transferring to a new school. We have seen it in other shows, so this is no different. Even so, it’s surprising how shy Fate has become when she received a barrage of questions from a bunch of curious classmates. I kind of felt bad for her, but at least Alisa brought it under control. Otherwise, it seems that she is getting along well with Nanoha’s friends and adjusting to her new home rather well.
On the other front, we got to see a bit more interaction with Hayate, which haven’t gotten much screen time despite being one of the most important characters of this show. Like the first episode, we got to see some interaction with Suzuka. Aside from that, we just see her do all the housework while her other servants do other things. Isn’t this kind of cruel considering that she is still handicapped? Still, it’s fascinating how Vita and Zafira has become so desperate that they are now resorting to capture linker cores from animals on different planets so they don’t have to fight the opposition. Sadly, they got a bit too overconfident and eventually walked into a trap.
From the looks of things, the next battle will be an interesting one with Nanoha’s and Fate’s intelligent devices getting a massive upgrade. Perhaps with this new Velka-type Cartridge System, they might be able to beat all four of them with little trouble. However, we still don’t know much about the Book of Darkness except that something bad will happen if 666 pages get filled and it regenerates. From the amount of pages required, it makes me think that the artifact is the work of the devil. Even so, it’s only a matter of time until the master gets drawn out, which would mean trouble for the opposition.
Hayate herself chooses to do everything on her own. Her ability to take care of herself and her newfound family is an important element of her self-respect and independence. Allowing people with a disadvantage this independence is not cruelty, but kindness. Let’s do help out when they request it, though ;).
It’s pretty understanding given the situation as she was an orphan. It’s unknown whatever happened to her parents, but aside from that, the servants basically is her new family. Still, the book of darkness still leaves a lot to think about for those who haven’t finished the show yet so, it’s too early to tell what will happen to her.
