Now the Classic Literature Club won the cooking contest, they are left with a hefty mystery on their hands while mysterious thief stealing various items.
Like the last episode, there wasn’t much excitement except for the continuous stealing of items from other clubs. It’s clear that somebody is doing this just so that the Classic Literature Club receives some fame out of it. It’s so obvious with the name, 10 Characters (十文字) as the thief will target them last. Still, it’s quite interesting how the thief is basing the whole thing from Agatha Christie’s The A.B.C Murders. From this, it’s fascinating to see where they got the inspiration for this mystery.
On the other hand, I notice that there is a rivalry going around with Houtarou and Satoshi. I feel that Satoshi is probably annoyed by Houtarou’s ability to solve any mystery without doing much. With the effort he puts in catching the thief at the Magic Show, he ends up receiving a fruitless result with the candle stolen. You see that this failure bothers him. At the end of the day, I don’t think it matters which one solves it as long the club receives some kind of recognition one way or another.
Aside from that, I have to say that the Classic Literature Club is getting closer in solving the mystery besides the setbacks from the Wall News Paper and Magic Club getting their items stolen. Still, Houtarou’s interrupting Eru’s favorite catchphrase was hilarious. It seems that he knows when she gets into her “curiosity” mode that his reflexes kicks in.
Still, I felt bad for Mayaka since five manga club members bullies her. Besides the upperclassman arguing with her a few episodes back, it seems that the president is the only person she trusts. I’m not sure how she will reconcile with the other members after the stuff they said. Only time can tell.
I’m unsure about who is the culprit this time around, apart from the news poster club president, I don’t see anyone else with an interest in creating this mystery…:|
It’s obvious that he will get caught in the next episode as he is running out of clubs to steal items from. Still, what continues to fascinate me is that this arc is more character driven and the mystery is put into the foreground.
