Since there are two episodes left to catch up with, I may as well watch both of them and share my overall thoughts.
In the second episode, not much happened except the three-way switch between Yui, Himeko and Yoshifumi. This was freaking hilarious to see them experience such a switch like that. At one point, they complained about going into the wrong bathroom and such, causing some hell. It seems like Heartseed enjoys watching the Cultural Research Club having some kind of personality disorder. Then again, the part where Taichi admits that he likes Iori pretty much made my day. It’s somewhat obvious from how he reacted in the first episode when he first met her and the body swaps.
However, the third episode with Yui’s situation reminded me of a similar character from another show. When she told what happened when she switches bodies with Taichi, her situation is very similar to Arashiko Yuuno from MM!. The only big difference is that she studied martial arts to protect herself, but narrowly escapes when a man stronger than her tried to rape her. In addition, she never admitted her androphobia except to her closest friends. I can fully understand why she would feel this way because that experience adversely affected her life. Still, I laughed by how Taichi in Yui’s body decided to give her one of the dangerous weapons. He simply kicked his body in the groin area. Although painfully hilarious, just remember that when you get in a tight spot as it might work!
Needless to say, Kokoro Connect continues to impresses me. From the drama in the third episode and using a creative way to help someone’s androphobia, it shows one helpful examples of body swapping to develop the characters more. Still, I hope that Taichi makes love with Iori as she is more suited for him rather than Yui. However, it’s kind of disturbing that Yui will consider watching Pro Wrestling now since he convinced her. I wonder how that will turn out.
