Before we can go to Castella City, you are forced into doing a recording at Pokewood (also known as Pokestar Studios). From there, you must produce one film. Homika’s father also costars in these films in addition to the star, Brycen, who is a former Gym Leader in the previous games.
Besides from that, you have the choice to use rental Pokémon or your own. I’m kind of disappointed that I cannot use my Pokémon yet as it won’t let me 1. Like you expect, the actions you take and what you say will affect the outcome of the movie. Its kind of embarrassing, but I failed my first attempt as you see below 2.
After you film your first movie, I can continue on. As expected, Team Plasma returns into two separate units, except they now wear black. As you see, they are blocking the way to the boat. From there, I battled them and chase the other one.
Once I have arrived in Castella City (ヒウンシティ), I can’t battle the Gym Leader yet since he is missing. Iris appears again. It’s clear that Burgh is searching for something in the sewers with Team Plasma spotted. So, I followed her lead to the entrance. Our rival comes and temporarily teams up with me. After exploring the sewers, we battle the grunts, which is easy. Subsequently, a mysterious scientist comes out of the cave. With that, I head to the Castella City’s Gym to battle Burgh (アーティ).
Unlike the last game, the new layout uses cocoons. When you enter them, it will suck me up to the next area. In the Gym Leader area, it looks like a pool of paint or something.
Like the last game, his team is very similar from the last game, except his first Pokémon got swapped with something else. For me, the battle was very straight forward since いぬみ basically sweep two of his Pokémon. His Dwebble had some challenge since two of his moves are super effective on her. Therefore, I switch to my Lucario named いなみ and finish off his last Pokémon.
With the third gym down, we head to the next town. Of course, a mysterious scientist named Akuroma (アクロマ) appears, who is apparently obsessed with the Pokémon strength. He challenges me to a battle after clearing the Pokémon away from the road. He is easy since いぬみ basically took all his Pokémon with ease. Once defeated, he gives you a Protein.
Also, Bianca gives me the Dowsing Machine when I head out to Route 4. Once I entered Join Avenue, people will ask me to answer some questions. These include a greeting, a position title and something you have done. Aside from that, this place populates by communicating with other people. Since nobody else has Pokémon Black and White 2 yet since it’s only out in Japan, I won’t cover it just yet.
Since I have shared enough experiences, the next part will focus on the next Gym and other stuff. We’ll see you then…
Current Team
Some Notes
As you see, I’m playing the Japanese version for further practice in strengthening my Japanese Skills. Of course, the game will not work on an American DSi or 3DS, which is why I’m playing on my old school DS. However, communication functions between the American and Japanese version still works, so you don’t have to worry if you want to import it
Congrats on the second badge win! These adventures remind me of when I bought a Japanese Pokemon Silver from an old guy at the local market. Back when you were just bumbling around blind and got it stolen in a casino from some kids >>
Thanks and by the way, I beaten three Gym Leaders… the third gym battle is on the second page of this post and can be seen under the pages after the content.
Glad to see you’re making progress in the game. The Japanese practice is fun, I’m sure 😉 The games look exciting and I can’t wait to get my English copy.
I already have made a list of words and I kind of understand the gist of the story thus far. But yes, Black and White 2 is already an improvement and actually have some challenge since the addition of the older Pokemon…
