Now we face the Gym Leader and do other stuff.
After leaving Sangi Town, Alder gives you a nugget before you return to the first city. One I returned, I entered the first Gym and challenge Cheren, the first Gym Leader, which is in the Trainer House believe it or not. Like in the previous games, the Gym Leader Guide gives you fresh water after you enter. Once that is over, we challenge the trainers there, which have normal type Pokémon.
As for Cheren, his Pokémon is easy to beat. The only challenge is that there is no fighting type Pokémon besides Riolu, which can make the battle easy. After defeating him, I receive the first badge. Horray!
Once we got our first badge, we get another reward from Bianca, which is TM27, which is Return. She reunites with Cheren and then calls Professor Juniper. In addition, we got the C-Gear, which enables the communication functions in the game. Believe it or not, you can connect with an American copy of the game, so you can trade eggs and hatch them in the new game.
On the way to the next town, Cheren and our rival came to meet. Basically he explains about the dark patches of grass containing stronger Pokémon and gives us berries. Once he is finished, I continued on.
After arriving in Tachiwaki City, mom calls about a place (which I will cover on the next page). Soon after, the Gym Leader is talking to her father who wants to captain a ship, but told not to since it’s difficult. Once the commotion was over, I head for the next Gym.
For Tachiwaki City’s Gym, it’s modeled after a Live House. All the trainers use Poison type Pokémon. Like the previous gym, there are currently no moves you can use to take advantage of the type advantage. Of course, you have to challenge the two members of the band before you can take on Homika.
For most people, she can be tricky as her Pokémon is somewhat strong and has moves to poison your Pokémon. Fortunately, I kind of cheated by hatching a Growlithe (ガーディ) named いぬみ. I bred her from my other game and EV trained it. Otherwise, I would have some trouble defeating her… But anyways, I got the second badge and TM06, which is Venoshock.
Part III is on the next page, covering Pokewood and the next Gym.
Congrats on the second badge win! These adventures remind me of when I bought a Japanese Pokemon Silver from an old guy at the local market. Back when you were just bumbling around blind and got it stolen in a casino from some kids >>
Thanks and by the way, I beaten three Gym Leaders… the third gym battle is on the second page of this post and can be seen under the pages after the content.
Glad to see you’re making progress in the game. The Japanese practice is fun, I’m sure 😉 The games look exciting and I can’t wait to get my English copy.
I already have made a list of words and I kind of understand the gist of the story thus far. But yes, Black and White 2 is already an improvement and actually have some challenge since the addition of the older Pokemon…
