Certainly, things heats up for the final leg of the war.
From the look of things, it finally makes sense why they would place a flashback of Kritsugu’s past before continuing on. Throughout this episode, it seems that he is gradually returning to his old self. Especially now since the burden of the dead servants is causing his wife, Irisviel to weaken. Not only that, the death of Maiya and her last words after he came several moments later caused him to cry the third time in the series. Along with him talking to Saber directly, it seems that he is losing his protective shell that allows him to remain emotionless. This doesn’t bode well if he wants to win because it will show his weakness. Either way, he will eventually break down with his wife’s unavoidable death since she is the vessel for the Grail.
On the other front, it seems that Rider has weakened a lot since his battle against Caster. However, one of the interesting things during his conversation with Weaver is his questioning of the grail’s existence. It’s obvious that he learned that Keanos is just a fairy tale and his people died for nothing. Now, he doesn’t want the same to happen to Weaver if the Grail is not real and don’t want to take the risk. It’s understandable since we don’t know exactly what the grail looks like. Not only that, Lancer’s last words of saying that the grail would become cursed only adds more to the uncertainly. On the other hand, his actions of killing Maiya and kidnapping Irisviel to provoke Saber regarding her ideals is downright dirty. I suppose Saber won’t have a hard time defeating him since his mana is low.
Lastly, Maiya reveals some details on how she met Kiritsugu to Irisviel. The interesting thing about her is that when Kiritsugu found and took her in, it reminded me of Natalia. The same teacher and student relationship also exists as he teaches her all the skills needed. She devoted herself to him, even though it’s not as close compared to the former. Even so, I expected that the death would hit home for him since he experienced two deaths of women that he was close with (Shirley and Natalia). From this, it’s clear that being Kiritsugu is suffering.
As one expect, this episode felt like a the calm before the storm as the masters prepares for the worse such as Kiritsugu obtaining the Avalon and Zouken feeding Kariya a big worm. Seriously, screw Zouken since he ruined more lives with his parasitic worms. Even with Kariya’s second chance he received from Kirei, I doubt he would last any longer and gain full control of Berserker. Still, the last few episodes will in no doubt show something interesting as the war comes to an end.
Luckily Zouken will suffer hard in Heaven’s feel route of Fate Stay Night…:P
He’s such an hateful guy…>_<
Yeah, and I need to finish Fate/stay night once Fate/zero ends sometime in June…
So tell me, how did Rider find out their new address? The Castle was a known landmark.
Sometimes I’m amused how viewers don’t pay attention to those obvious details.
This is a different location as Kirei knew their previous location. Also, this location shows up in Fate/stay night… Apparently, he knows the new one as well. Still, I think he found out from flying around or something.
First: The location of the Einzbern castle, Matou and Tohsaka mansions are well known since there have been there for centuries… since they are the families who host this ritual. This is a house Kiritsugu got via his personal contacts (the Mafia).
Kirei deployed spies from the Church to check out movements to find it out where they were currently hiding. Episode 17.
Rider wasn’t able to move away from his Master or materialize since the Caster battle (when Irisviel moved, if you recall, he was busy shopping video games with his Master). Waver is a poor boy who can barely afford his education. He does not have contacts with the Mafia or the Holy Church.
There’s also Rider said he needed to stay all day there and only move during the night. It was still daylight when Irisviel was taken.
Anyway, you’ll find out the truth next week. I’m surprised most people didn’t catch the obvious setup, only by knowing Rider’s personality is boisterous, theatrical and proud. Total contrast with silent Rider kidnapper.
I hope the spoiler tags work….
Damn it that tag didn’t work. >.<
I fixed it for you. For future reference, it’s
