After solving two simple mysteries last, it’s time to tackle one that takes a bit more thinking with an additional member.
Into the second episode, it seems that Hyouka finally introduced all the main characters of the show as Mayaka joins the crew. Apparently, She has a huge crush on Satoshi, which is kind of funny since he teases her. Still, they make a fine couple even though he doesn’t recognize her feelings towards him, mostly because she is too harsh. Believe me, being in the Friendzoned is painful since a certain girl has been there until recently…
As for the mystery in this episode, it was definitely more elaborate than last time, but not too groundbreaking. Apparently, Mayaka wants to know why someone keeps checking out the same book and return it the same day. Yeah, that is kind of strange since most people wouldn’t waste his/her effort in returning the book the same day and just wait until it’s due. Even so, I find it amusing how Houtarou complains about using his energy because he used some to figure out that some girls used it as a prop for a painting and nobody else could get it. At this rate, he may as well use it all since he wastes more than saving.
Of course, the part I liked about this episode is Eru. She is rather cute, especially when she forces Houtarou to pick the recommended item on the menu and shoving the book in front of his face. Also, she looked cute in a ponytail and the dress she wore while visiting him at a café. With that, hopefully the next mystery goes a bit deeper as they seek for the collection they desire.
The last ponytail scene makes her appear a lot like Mio from K-On. The similarity in drawing style is really remarkable even if produced by the same company. 😛
Now up to the real mysteries!
Yeah and also the maid outfit, except that Eru isn’t moe compared to the former… But still, I’m liking the animation, but the mysteries needs to be a bit more deep and suspenseful. It’s too simple at the moment.
