Thank god they stopped obsessing over bread. I was about to go insane for a moment!
Although bread had a brief appearance in this episode, at least the producers didn’t go crazy with it. When the furnace decides to break down, I literally jumped with joy since they can’t bake any more bread. On the other hand, the girl named Kaguya washes on shore that wears a mysterious pendant on her neck. The interesting thing about her is that she is in the same situation as Rick. In a flashback, he experienced amnesia when he lied on the shore. He only knows his name and gets forced into baking bread by the girls. At least this shows some significance behind the storm in transporting her to the island. Otherwise, it would become a total washout.
At last, the show finally has a plot even though it follows a generic Japanese RPG story. Yeah, the dwarf that supposed to fix their furnace looked rather suspicious. He hides a mechanical looking girl, which he tied up in the shop. From the looks of it, she looks rather mysterious and nobody really knows who she is. On the other hand, the next episode will be interesting as the cat girl named Xiao-Mei makes another appearance while a pirate ship comes on shore. Does this mean that we will see more fighting? I seriously hope so or I’ll scream.
Extra Notes
- The songs played during this episode (心に届く詩 and WHITE and SHADOW ~夢幻の輪舞~) are the songs from the actual game with the former being the Game OP performed by Lia.
I just watch the other anime in this series and I gotta say if this one starts picking up like that one did (like it did in this episode) it’ll be great fun. If not… at least there’s bread and that ED… XD
It’s kind of ironic that some of these shows get better on the third episode after they finally finish the introductions in the first two episodes. I hope that it gets better as the crew sets out to a great adventure… but I agree that the Bread dance in the ending is crazy… and now oddly feels out of place.
