Finally, they strike gold after experiencing a rough ride last time.
As they get closer to their destination, they do a FTL jump to enter the hyperspace. Following the jump, they get into a space-time earthquake. Although I have experienced an earthquake since I felt the aftershocks of one last year in August, it seems that the crew suffered a bit more. What amazed me is how they managed to get out of the quake, survived the gravity burst and eventually leaving the hyperspace despite having their systems partially shut down in one instance.
In addition to surviving the jump, it’s obvious that someone else is looking for the ship. When Gruier answers the communication request that the ship received, we get a look of her younger sister named Grunhilde. When I saw her, I wondered why she is there? Is she trying to show off her authority or something? Not only that, why is she seeking the Serenity Golden Ghost Ship? During the short communication between the two, it seems like they were arguing with each other. Once they finish their conversation with no resolution, the question on why her younger sister would take the drone and turn her back against her sister was still in my mind after the episode ended. Perhaps she seeks for someone (like a political figure) on the ghost ship that will give her an upper advantage in keeping the throne. Even so, her motives on taking this action remain unknown, so we just have to speculate on that until they confront each other again.
With that, the Bentenmaru finally got into the ghost ship and is now safe from Grunhide’s forces. Through the help of McDougall’s amazing steering skills, they were able to narrowly escape and dock the ship at the same time. It’s probably amusing to see the reaction from the fleet as they curse at them in anger. With that out of the way, what secret lies ahead in the Queen Serendipity? I think that answer lies in the next episode when the crew, including Gruier explores it.
