Mouretsu Pirates – Episode 10 – Steering Through Rough Seas

March 11, 2012 by Chikorita157 2 Comments
I admit, being a princess is not an easy job.

After Princess Serenity asked the Yacht club to fake her attendance while the crew obtained secret data crucial for their task, they are now set to seek out the ghost ship.

A lot of turbulence, probably worse than what we experience in real life.

Finally, there are more moments after they gathered enough findings about the ghost ship. Now, it’s only the matter of finding the ship, which might become tricky. It requires them to navigate the roughest and dangerous part of space. Before that happens, Misa kicks Marika and Gruier out because they passed the allowable time to work. I have to admit that really sucks more for Marika since she is Captain after all. Even so, they probably didn’t want a liability of having them work more than allowed.

Another interesting aspect of this episode is Gruier getting left out of the action. There were some moments where she feels down about it, especially after their attack on the two Serenity Royal Family ships. She pretty much went up in arms and wanting to communicate with them. There is a good reason why her request got denied. Marika didn’t want to use the trump card yet. Not only that, it would reveal her actual location.

This episode brought many interesting facts behind Gruier herself. From Coorie cracking the probes the royal family had left over, it revealed something interesting. Somehow, the Princess’s biometrics and name allowed her to obtain the data despite the data existing well before Gruier’s actual birth. This essentially reveals something about the loyal family maintaining their independence. Still, most of it remains a mystery.

Admit it... you loved it!

On the other hand, Marika came out as a strong leader this time around. She simply took the right actions towards the two ships and able to inflict some damage. From what she has demonstrated, she is not in the story for the sole purpose of being cute, but showed some courage without letting her guard down. As for Chiaki, I kind of liked her substituting in the insurance fraud. I got the feeling that she wanted to have a mission like Marika’s instead of covering for her.

This episode! Sooooo goooood I wanted to jump right into episode 11…ah well we will get a treat next week <3

The best moments were easily watching the Bentenmaru riding on those "rough waters" I think the CGI was excellent even thou I knock CGI hard most of the time, but it actually looks great for Mouretsu Pirates. The second moment hands down! Chiaki? Damn she was really enjoying her role as the fake Bentenmaru captain…remember when she said I would never do that…LOLOL Guess she got a taste of it at last.

The preview showed another blonde character! I wonder if that is a brother or sister character? I just saw on Ryan's page some are thinking of possible clones? Since it is obvious the dna of Gruier is somehow connected to the ghost ship. Either way damn I am so addicted even thou I can bet money episode 11 will end in classic cliffhanger mode.

I agree, the animation looked really nice in this episode and of course, Chiaki in the captain outfit. Still, the person in the preview is a mystery… It could be a prince from what I know… but I can’t really assume anything until the next episode airs.
