Almost there, but the adventure haven’t started just yet!
As revealed in the last episode, Princess Serenity has snuck on board and asks Marika to help her with a certain mission. When I was looking back, I didn’t realize that Princess Serenity has so many similarities to the main heroine of a certain series. Even so, things eventually got better after she received her belongings and a chip that contained information about the ghost ship from the Grand Chamberlain. While it’s subtle, it seems that they have finally accepted her mission and studying abroad, which is good news for the mission.
Thankfully, Chiaki makes a return in this episode after her short-lived absence. As expected, Marika gave her a hug, which looked rather cute and filled with denial. To make it even better, the whole club calls her “Chiaki-chan” when they came into the clubroom and hilarity ensues. Also, Gruier reveals that she wants to fake her attendance for obvious reasons and looking for the Yacht club to help her. Of course, this led to her joining the club and getting dragged into simulation practice. I guess the girls will have a field day with her around.
Aside from that, it seems that we are now set for a pirate adventure next episode since the crew knows all the basic information about the ghost ship. It seems that Gruier wants to find a ship that carried many people of her own kind in suspension to another planet. The reason behind it all is still a mystery, but I can’t help to think that she might take some names from there and commit voter fraud. Even so, it looks like Marika will have some kind of rivalry as Chiaki’s father is also seeking for the same ship. Only time can tell and hopefully, they won’t get into any real danger.
The main highlight was Chiaki’s return and Marika being all over her. Oh yes. The big question now is, which of the two wants the other most?
Pirate Gruier is adorable…but I still prefer her in royal garb and loose hair. Poor Chiaki is kinda jelly that Gruier gets to hang out with Marika slightly more often but she knows Marika likes her best.
Of course Marika likes Chiaki more… But still, it’s quite funny that you brought this up since the princess is voiced by Haruka Tomatsu. If you watched Kannagi, it’s the same pair as Hanazawa Kana is also in that productions… which in turn, the pair also had roles in Idolmaster Dearly Stars. Either way, it would be interesting to see how it turns out.
I liked this set up. I wonder what the problem is in the royal court that requires them to locate the ghost ship. I’m guessing someone is in suspended animation, probably a member of the royal family.
It might be a possibility… Perhaps Gruier might be looking for her parents or something that never made it to the planet… but still, I wonder how it feels to stay in suspended animation if it becomes possible in real life.
