Following the big explosion of a hotel building with El-Melloi in it, has Kiritsugu successfully killed him? We’ll see.
Not surprisingly, El-Melloi actually survives the blast through the use of this silvery liquid that protects him. It’s obvious that he has the power of alchemy or rather, his “Mystic Code” on his side to protect himself from harm. This leaves Kiritsugu at a disadvantage when he infiltrates his castle while Irisvel and Maiya escaped. Even so, his time altering magic looked really cool since he was able to move fast and dodge the attacks. In addition, he can temporarily slow his heart down to avoid being detected. Not only that, the music that went along with their battle sounded great.
At the same time Kiritsugu also had a feeling of conflict of what he put his family into before the battle. This is not only shown in his reluctance to allow Saber fight Caster with her injured left arm, but something else. Ever since he found out that King Arthur is actually a girl, he became really pessimistic. Not only that, the guilt of risking Irisvel’s and Ilya’s life also caused immense stress for him because he is now targeted by Kirei. Therefore, he wants to abandon the 4th Grail War and run away with his family so he can live a carefree life. I understand the immense emotional pressure he is going through, but giving up is not the answer. If he quit now, he will never achieve his dream of saving the world and become shameful. Thankfully, through Irisvel’s affection, she convinced him not give up and that herself, Maiya and Saber is on his side. It was a pretty scene, but I still get the feeling that she deserves better.
Finally, Saber faces off Caster once again, who is probably the most insane servant in the series. He basically uses the children as pawns and kills them by turning them into these tentacles like creatures. No matter what he does, what he done to them was unforgivable. Needless to say, she had a difficult time beating all of them since they keep multiplying and that she can only use one arm. Despite this, it was an intense battle with Lancer eventually helping her out in the end.
Needless to say, the buildup last time has definitely paid off in this two-part attack against Caster and his master. Also, Iskander’s casual outfit looked awesome and I liked how he figured out how to order through mail order. No matter what, he and Weaver still make a very entertaining duo, even if their appearance were a few minutes long.
