After all that drama, the girls fight on and show their fame on a live variety show. Believe me, it’s really fun.
Before we get to the various segments in the show, it’s nice to see Chihaya, Haruka and Miki hosting the show. Their performance was great for the most part. Miki even tries to flirt with the Producer by blowing a kiss and blurting out “Honey” in front of the audience! Thankfully Haruka successfully covered it up so it wouldn’t damage her image too much.
In the second half, Chihaya’s loosening up from her cold personality became very apparent. She simply laughed really hard in a reenactment of a famous seiyuu meme when the box’s cover hits Haruka in the face 1. After that moment, she simply can’t hold herself back from laughing in two different instances. Either way, it’s good to see her this cheerful once in a while.
Now, I present my thoughts of each segment:
Kindergarten with Yayoi and Company
Given Yayoi’s really cheerful personality with Iori and Azusa helping her, they simply look really adorable in the outfits they are wearing. It was funny to see Azusa get a bit carried away by twirling around to amuse the audience, which looked out-of-place. Nevertheless, it was cute.
Makoto’s Extreme Makeover
It’s obvious that Makoto wants to become more feminine. Sadly, nobody seems to care. However, her entrance in a pink dress was cute and really girly that I laughed a bit despite being a failure. Sadly, it seems that the male clothing Yukiho chose is the only thing that gets the fan girls squealing and she gets carried away with it. I guess change have to wait a bit longer…
Takane’s Ramen Eating Adventure
Finally, Takane gets some time in the spotlight. Still, I wish that they showed more of her since she’s amazing. Aside from that, she basically checks out one ramen place with the help of the Futami twins. I liked how she simply goes in and presses the button on the ticket machine without putting any money into it. Also, she orders one with a tower of beansprouts. She manages to finish it all in matters of minutes while the twins struggle. She is simply an amazing eater.
Others
Apparently, 765 Productions made a movie involving mecha. It’s not surprising since there was Xenoglossia, a spinoff that featured mecha that was not well received. As for this, it’s kind of amusing to see a Chihaya robot (controlled by the Futami twins)2 beat the others that have a chest. Not only that, we get a glimpse of Haruka, Yayoi and Makoto playing the roles of villains. Haruka being one was predictable merely for reasons you may not want to know (just check out some of the lyrics of her songs and you’ll see).
Lastly, you have Hibiki who works the hardest compared to everyone else as she’s racing time to reach the studio before the show ends. Sadly, she doesn’t make it and it’s likely that something unfortunate had happen. Either way, we just have to wait until the next episode to find out…
