Now you playing with weights! Sounds pretty fun, right? It sure does!
Part I – Elementary School Invasion and Football Letdown
It’s obvious that Ika has nothing when it comes to teenagers and adults. Despite this, she is wildly popular with the children. When Takeru brought her in, I laughed so hard as Ika kicked the teacher out of the classroom. It was simply hilarious how a grownup couldn’t control the kids without ice cream! Too bad Ika didn’t have any to continue her influence…
Besides the failed invasion, Ika participates in a football match. Unlike Baseball, she amusingly fails because she only could use her legs. Through some help, they managed a tie and promised to share the grounds, making it a win-win for both sides. Either way, Ika should stick with sports that allow the use of her hands and tentacles for her sake.
Part II – Cosplay Mania
This was my favorite part of the episode since I get to see Nagisa as a handsome man and Ayumi in a maid’s outfit with brass knuckles, which looked irresistibly cute. Although it was successful, the cosplaying defeats the purpose since they aren’t being themselves and thus not solving their internal issues. Even so, it looked fun.
On the other hand, Ika dressed as a queen looked downright silly. Clearly, nobody took her seriously except the MIT scientists and Sanae.
Part III – Weight Woes and The Secret Bracelet
Unfortunately, popular media causes some people to become conscious about their appearance and eventually pushes them to diet. Chizuru isn’t alone as she destroys the scale for gaining weight and complains again when she gets the same result with a new scale. For her, weight is serious business…
Besides her weight problems, I always wondered about the bracelet Ika had after all this time. Finally, she reveals what it does. Apparently, it controls how much weight she has, so she can do cool things with her tentacles. To make herself look cool, she eventually made herself so light that she can fly. As you see, it becomes unpractical because a bird grabs her in midair. Essentially, it’s not a toy and Chizuru learns the hard way when she twists her bracelet up to eleven. It results in a small, but deep hole. I only wonder, how she’s going to fill it up and get Ika out of it? I just don’t want to know…
