Through some miscommunication, it caused Miki to get her hopes up a bit too much. Ultimately, Ritsuko’s rejection crushed her dreams and this causes her to change her mind and quit until the Producer convinces her to come back.
After watching this episode, I’m puzzled over the attitude Miki had displayed. Sure, she is very talented. However, her rebellious behavior makes her look like a brat. She was so gung-ho about getting into Ryuuguu Komachi that she forgot about working with the other girls to beat them. Her emotions simply got in the way and cause her priorities set on the wrong thing. Then again, I can’t really blame her since she is only 15 years old and hasn’t matured yet. Even so, the producer is mostly at fault for letting this happen for many reasons.
Compared to Ritsuko, it feels like the Producer hasn’t tried hard enough to satisfy the demands of the remaining girls. Sure, he managed to get a few events going, but it’s not enough to gather enough publicity. He simply left the girls sitting out in the dust until now. In a way, this only legitimizes Miki’s complaint of not being able to dance and sing in front of a crowd while wearing cute clothes. He didn’t give any attention to her and left her talent unnoticed. Of course, Chihaya is also talented and makes some of the same complaints; she is just not vocal about it knowing that it would negatively affect the group as a whole. Perhaps, if he puts more effort into beating Ritsuko, everyone will be happier and something like this wouldn’t have happen.
On the other hand, there is a reason why he is so incompetent. It’s obvious that this guy is you in the actual game. Thus, his character needs to relate to us so we can experience the difficulties he faces. If we made him just successful like Ritsuko, his actions wouldn’t have any meaning. Don’t worry, he won’t be like this forever and eventually get better as time goes on,
Besides the setback, it was nice to see him following Miki. It was a good experience since he learned more about her personality. Thankfully, she decides to come back and likes her new outfit. With this commotion done and over, I hope the girls pull off a great performance so everyone else can sparkle 1.

- Believe it or not, this line reminded me of Hanasaku Iroha as they said about the same thing ↩
