It appears that Yune is still getting used to France. At the same time, Claude learns more about Japan and its culture, which influences him to make another sign based on it.
Besides the obligatory cuteness when Yune eats a piece of Baba, it seems that Claude learns a bit more about Japanese culture. As you expected, Oscar’s explanation of Japanese houses, furniture, water supply and sumo wrestlers were simply hilarious and cute with Yune everywhere. On the other hand, his explanation caused a misunderstanding for Claude since it gives him the perception that Japan as a crazy country. Despite this, he is still willing to learn their culture. For instance, when Yune is writing stuff in Japanese, she showed him how she writes her name. With the creation of the sign based off her Japanese name and watching her folding origami, he is starting to warm up and understand the Japanese culture.
The development of Yune and Claude is still a steady and present experience at this point. It was simply nice to see them walk under a Japanese umbrella hearing the sound of rain and eventually seeing the sunset in the second half of the episode. Sadly, this peacefulness is about to end as Alice, the biggest Japanophile in France besides Oscar who wants to take Yune away since she is Japanese. This kind of annoyed me since she only understands the surface of the Japanese culture out of obsession than appreciation. However, I do like her mother since she is so classy and pretty, even though she gives into her daughter’s obsession. I just hope that Yune survives Alice’s obsession if she decides to take her home or she won’t be the same ever again!
Was that her mother? I thought it might have been her older sister, or perhaps a cousin. Well, we’ll have to see how things work out. I believe in Yune’s power to win people over. She changed Claude from a bit of a jerk to a nice guy, and I think she can do the same with Alice.
I wasn’t too sure because of her mannerisms… Either way, Yune’s cuteness will win over everyone’s hearts that they will change. :p
Camille is her older sister. ;D (I would have never guessed by their completely opposite personalities though!) Anyway, the preview shows Alice and Yune meeting … I’m a little worried for Yune too. I’m most interested in finding out what will become of the Kimono, maybe Claude will try and convince her to give it back since it’s Yune’s keepsake, but Alice seems pretty attached.
Ahhh… Thanks for clarifying that for me since it was pretty hard to tell, but I do like her a bit more than Alice… she is somewhat annoying and hopefully Yune can get it back, someday when she wins over her heart and becomes friends. Either way, it’s still worrisome as Alice might steal her away from Calude. :/
