It seems that Takashi has been out of the spotlight for a long time that we must find out his lovely relationship with Asuka or rather, Princess Asuka and Hawk Cyan Blue.
When you were in high school, did you ever have your friends set you up with a girl and tell her that he wants to go out on a date just for the giggles? This happens to Takashi and Asuka nearly two years ago. While they aren’t officially girlfriend and boyfriend, they were very close. Sadly, he does not have the courage to ask her out and she scolds him for that!
Throughout the episode, Takashi gets into a trance and we are sucked into this fantasy world of confusion. When I saw this fantasy world, things just got more confusing and weird. I was wondering, what force is attacking them and what for? Also, the characters that looked so familiar had different names, especially Takashi who calls himself Hawk Cyan Blue. What kind of name is that? Lastly, Masako that was shown in the last fantasy scene was apparently the unnamed maid in the fantasy world who tries to score the Hawk by stripping to her underwear, which gave a somewhat hilarious reaction.
In the end, I have to say that Takashi is the weakest out of the three leads since he is so plain and uninteresting. When I look at Suusuke and Hayato, there is always something fun with the girls. On the other hand, Takashi seem to be uninterested with the girls surrounding him, especially when his sister, Kobato who is completely naked! His reaction to it is simply “put some clothes on” and that’s it. There is no freaking out or complete denial of potential incest. It felt dull, but hopefully things will get exciting in the next episode.
Hmmmmmmmmm maybe I will try this out…..
Fantasy world? Awesome I thought that was a troll but why not might make things interesting >:P
No, it’s real and the underlining basis of this show and the visual novel. :p
Ooooh! Then I shall watch this then tonight! 😀
It was here that OreTsuba spiraled from barely tolerable into a confusing wreck. My problem stems from the fact that there was no warning when Takashi plunged into the fantasy world, and that there’s absolutely no explanation as to anything going on right now. It’s like they’re hiding most of the plot for a big reveal later that nobody’s going to really care about because of how crappy everything’s been until now.
Maybe learning more about the source material would be beneficial, but that doesn’t make much of a case for the quality of the anime series.
I’m hoping it’ll get better, but I won’t hold my breath. Yet, I’ve pledged to follow this ’til the bitter end, and I can only hope that end is indeed not bitter.
I agree that it’s very confusing, especially for Takashi… then again, I still have some enjoyment from this show since there are a few rather funny jokes and cuteness that keeps me watching. Then again, jamming a visual novel into a 12 episode adaptation is not an easy task… then again, I may be wrong since AIR managed to fit majority of the story in 12 episodes.
Also, have you seen Shuffle? I am wondering since I want to see how it compares to Oretachi.
I dunno, I just don’t like the way they’re going about crafting everything. As far as VN adaptations go, you don’t want to withhold information from the audience that is crucial to advancing the plot. That’s one surefire way to turn them off forever.
And yeah, I saw Shuffle. Aside from the fathers of the two main love interests, it was boring as can be. I mean the one element that was any good, the yandere, was held off until the end and even then didn’t have a satisfying payoff.
Basically, it’s everything bad about harem antics in one package, but it isn’t as schizophrenic as OreTsuba has been.
