Summer is quickly approaching as the girls finally get some fun outside… Unfortunately for Tooru, she gets caught up with a girl who is obsessed with her to the point of wanting to run away.
Episode 3
While there is not much to say about this episode, it seems that both Run-chan and especially Tooru has people that are obsessed with them towards unhealthy levels. While I haven’t seen an obsession this high before, Yutaka takes it a step further by taking advantage of her at every possible moment like acting dumb while she gets help. Because of this, I feel sympathetic towards Tooru since she has to deal with Yutaka’s behavior. Unfortunately, it most likely will persist well into the future.
As for Run-chan, her most hilarious moment is when she shows off her iPod-like music player she apparently brought. Apparently, she does not know how to put music on it and used every possible technique to add songs to the player including taking it apart! In addition, she doesn’t have a computer either, which probably makes her the youngest technology illiterate person in Japan! It makes me wonder how she is going to survive high school when some of these assignments require a computer to do research and stuff.
Episode 4
Appearance and weight anxieties are big problems most teenagers face because of the influence from the media. Some teenagers, especially females feel this way and try to resolve it by go on a crash diet. Unfortunately for Nagi, with summer on the doorstep faces a predicament. She goes on a diet right away to potentially get a body like Yuuko… The problem is, eating less and exercising more suddenly actually makes the health deteriorate because of lack of nutrients that allow the creation of energy and it could potentially develop an eating disorder. If Nagi kept a balanced diet and cut out junk food, she could possibly lose weight in a healthier way.
On the flip side, I kind of laughed when Tooru want to gain weight and there is a reason… She only wants to grow.
Lastly, Run-chan, Yuuko and Nagi playing with the water hose reminds me of the pool cleaning scene from Yosuga no Sora, without the fanservice of course. While it’s really funny and cute to see them playing with water, they got into trouble and have to clean the whole pool themselves after school. So, don’t try this in real life!
