In the fourth part of Homura’s Pokémon Adventure, I venture through the Chargestone Cave to arrive at Mistralton City. From there I have go up to the tower to ring a bell before challenging the Gym Leader, Skyla. (Image Source)
This is probably one most troublesome cave in the whole game considering that it took some effort to solve the puzzles and navigate through the cave. It took at least 40 minutes until I finally found my way out of the place.
Before entering the cave, N appears and talks to me until the others came. Professor Juniper shows up and gives me a Lucky Egg. This hold item gives 1.5x the experience for the Pokémon that is holding it. This item is very helpful in level grinding since experience is hard to come by in this game.
Inside the cave, you need to push the floating blue rocks to clear the path. It may look easy, but trust me… you will be pushing it at every direction until you can move it. Towards the end of the tunnel, N reappears and challenges me to another battle. Like always, it only takes 2 minutes to OHKO all his Pokémon.
After finding the exit, I have finally arrived at Mistralton City. Before I can challenge Skyla, I need to find her at the Celestial Tower. The Celestial Tower is like the Pokémon Tower and Lost Tower in the other games where deceased Pokémon rest eternally. Once I battled my way up to the tower’s roof, I rang the bell after Skyla came up and instructed me to do so. She also mentions that the injured Pokémon was healed and flew away. After she left, now I can challenge her in a Gym Battle.
Compared to the other gyms, Mistralton City’s gym has a sublime way to travel… by canons! That’s right, it looks unsafe, but fun. Also, you can enter on any side of the canon. I haven’t figured this out earlier, so I was forced to battle some of the gym’s trainers as a result.
Skyla’s outfit may be really attractive, but her Pokémon was a disappointment. Swoobat can be OHKOed. In addition, her Unfezant and Swanna can be 2HKOed after two attacks. Overall, her team was very underwhelming considering that there are better flying Pokémon out there like Braviary. Unfezant is simply the worst bird Pokémon ever with the lack of heavy hitting moves like Brave Bird. Besides from that, I have finally earned the 6th badge with two more badges to go!

Next Time: Seventh Gym Leader Challenge and Team Plasma strikes again…
If you have an Electric pokemon on your team, beating Skyla is a breeze. They really should have given her a tougher pokemon like Braviary or an interesting dual-type like Archeops.
