Since the Queen Barry case was solved, Victorica falls into boredom and wants another mystery. It was not until Kazuya pleads for help that she gets one to solve that involves another transfer student from England that looks vaguely familiar.
As usual, Kazuya has bad luck every way he looks at it. He was arrested for telling the truth even though he is not involved with the murder. This all happened when he was doing his chores. On his way there, he notices a blond girl that might have some connection to the murder. In front of him, the person riding on the bike had his head chopped off with a sharp metal wire and spit apart when the bike crashed. From the looks of it, the blond girl might have put the wire up, which cut on her hands. While the girl was arrested, it doesn’t seem so since he spots her with a slightly different appearance.
When he went to class, the teacher introduces everyone to Avril Bradley that had a suspicious bandage around her hand. When he gives her a tour around the academy, she tries to seduce him with the teacher cheering her on. When he notices the bandages with suspicion, he asked what happened to her hand and she refuse to tell. From the looks of it, she is most likely wire barb murder and she conceals it by cut her hair short. Regardless, it was probably difficult for him to question her anyways because of her seduction.
Later, an important clue to the mystery is shown when Avril and Kazuya arrived at the crypt. When the men and Kazuya help open the door of the crypt, a corpse fell, which was wearing a knight’s uniform. Soon after, it was revealed that a girl named Millie apparently committed the crime. She basically knocks a former graduate Maxim that she is in love with so both of them could die and go to the afterlife together. She dresses and places him on the slab. When Maxim awoke, he knocks on the door for help, but nobody came.
Since the girl in the newspaper look somewhat familiar to Millie, I have my doubts towards Victorica’s assumption since they may have some relation to each other. Perhaps Avril is trying to do a copycat crime and do it to one of the classmates or maybe she is relative of Millie. Whatever may be the case, her rather suspicious behavior seen as she goes out of the tower could indicate that she might be planning a crime of some sort.
From the looks of it, Victorica might be facing some fierce competition with Avril over Kazzuya. Avril seems to have a flirty personality and has an attractive appearance. However, attractive girls could be manipulative as shown with her behavior. Regardless, this mystery will be interesting due to a fact that both of the girls are fighting over him, which could lead to Avril revealing some secrets.
If Victorique wasn’t so cute, I would not watch this. How could Kazuya even be swayed by Avril!
*Sigh* I shouldn’t be following this anime for a single character.
No, really!
Tell me who isn’t watching this only for Victorique. 👿
I’m watching for both the mystery and Victorica… Hopefully this mystery won’t be an easy one.
I guess men are manipulated easy by these busty babes… or rather Femme Fatales. Kind of distorts who Kazuya truly loves.
This episode was misleading alright; it made me question for a while whether the beheaded motorcyclist murderer was infact Avril or not…
Come to think of it, the fifth episode of Gosick does not even make a mention about that… only with the clues with Millie who committed the crime against Maxim. Perhaps that incident is meant to make the viewers suspicious of Avril that she may be the impostor.
Now that I think about it, the whole Beheaded Motocyclist case was most likely only mentioned in order mislead us into thinking that way. Otherwise, it’ll be plain idiotic to insert a mystery lasting last than 10 minutes long.
But a few fans are saying Gosick’s mysteries are somewhat improving. It’s definitely better than the first arc but I still hate Victorique’s deductive reasoning.
