After the final performance from the four girls that left Azu-nyan in tears, we are now left with the Extra Episodes.
The extras are what you expect if you watched the last season; they are fun and enjoyable stories to look at. The first extra involves the Light Music Club producing another promotional video since the last one is shoddily done. The second involves a visit to Sawako’s apartment to get her approval on the final copy of the yearbook. In addition to visiting her, they made dinner and done the laundry while she recovers from the cold.
Extra 1 – Promotional Video
Even if Mio does not like to wear the nurse’s outfit in the video, she still looked pretty cute and it caused an instant moe nosebleed. Azn-nyan also gets the same treatment with the recording of her saying “Welcome to the Light Music Club-nyan” while wearing the cat ears Sawako placed on her head. She was not happy after she watched it on the final video since Sawako added that recording at the end of the promotional video. I have to disagree with Azusa since she was pretty cute with the cat ears on.
This extra episode has what you normally expect: the tea, cake and random talking and jokes. The recording of the promotional video was pretty funny with Yui eating the food the wrong way and the completely random interviews that asked various people about the Light Music Club. The answers were pretty hilarious and outright silly. Too bad Azusa wanted to seal it away because of that one scene. I guess it would never see the light of day ever again.
Extra 2 – The Visit to Sawako’’s Apartment
Like the first extra, this one was also light hearted. Basically, the copy of the yearbook arrived and it needs to be approved by Sawako by tomorrow. The problem is… she has a cold. As a result, the four girls decided to visit Sawako to have the yearbook approved and help her with the chores.
The yearbook pictures were fine despite Yui’s disapproval of her yearbook portrait. Also, the class photo left me with chuckles since Yui, Mio, Ritsu and Sawako acted so surprised and scared by the hand on Yui’s shoulder. Ritsu soon realized that it was her hand and then outright denies it. In the end, she gets a big bump on her head and apologizes hysterically.
Towards the end of the episode, Azusa, Jun and Ui plays Fuwa Fuwa Time, which sounded like a MIDI. The song playing in the background while the four girls were running in the hallway fit rather nicely. It was simply one of the best moments in the second extra episode.
This pretty much wraps everything I have to say about the extra episodes. The second season of K-ON was pretty fun and I am going to miss it. Oh wait, they are going to have a feature film? F**k yes, it’s going to be great!
There is no font that is so effective at conveying the news for a K-ON! movie than the font that is called Trajan, the movie font 1.
Some Notes
- This font is so overused and cliched because of its popularity on Movie Posters and Titles ↩
