Christmas Eve comes and Fujimoto started acting strange…
Mainly because Fujimoto became a orphan on Christmas Eve and it’s a big tear jerker… Yeah, it really sucks to have that happen a day before Christmas. This makes me wonder what ever happened to his mother and father… did they just abandoned him? Well, this memory causes him to act weirdly to Kobato, which made her upset and that Fujimoto was working on Christmas Eve.
However, things come full circle when Domoto after hearing what happened to Kobato gives Fujimoto a letter and that he will take his place. Fujimoto meets Kobato who was waiting and told that she did nothing wrong… and the mesage on the card… well, for him to stop bullying her and “Merry Christmas” of course.
Episode 19 is a tear jerker and the whole premise of the episode felt emotional, especially for the flashback where Fujimoto waits at the train station until midnight. It’s really sad for that to happen and we don’t know really what happened to his mother. Also, his father wasn’t mentioned at all, so this means that either his father was divorced or something happened to him. The feelings that Kobato seems to have (the tight feeling in her chest, which suggests something with nervousness or love and her depression), however makes me think that Kobato actually likes Fujimoto without realizing it, but she doesn’t admit it. It’s unlike herself because she was always this genki girl that was clumsy, but this shows her actual feelings. Not the first if you recall back to Episode 15, where Kobato was worried about Sayaka when she got sick. However, this proves that somehow, the last few episodes are going to be a bit more emotional than the last several episodes. Just 5 episodes to find out the ending, but then again, the manga is still going on and somehow, I have the feeling that the manga ending will be different from the Anime.
Or maybe, because because Kobato realized she is losing the person he love by going with Domoto… Well, if you want to figure out why she feels like this… make a theory then.
Otherwise, It was a very beautiful and emotional episode… Somehow, it felt shoujoish….
Next episode: More Cameos… Yep, it’s like Madhouse’s revenge for them not allowing them to animate Tsubasa Chronicles!
Verdict
