You wished there was such thing as a cell phone or cordless phone, so you don’t have to stay in the same room all day… Like Episode 5, besides towards the end is a lighthearted episode. Some may whine about the added fanservice added to the episode or with Kanata wearing something that looks like a short dress. However, the fanservice is not like flashing pantsus or anything overall sexual, so I didn’t have any problems with it and with the later episodes getting more serious by the phone call Rio gets at the end of the episode, I wouldn’t write it off because of this one episode. However, I find this amusing. The whole episode takes place in this one room where Kanata is eventually left alone to wait for that phone call. The two children and the priest eventually come to visit Kanata. They decide to make a phone thingy and play with it while Misho want to catch the team mascot, the Owl.
It started to fly away and the craws accidently cling onto the string on the phone that causes one of the plates to fall and Kanata catches it. The boy went into the room, scared of the Owl that is flying away trips on the phone cord and fells on the priest, which lands, into a pile of women’s clothing. Kanata catches the phone and when Yumina comes in, she becomes dismayed by the priest, which had some women underwear on top of his head…
And…
Well, this is very unexpected in this show. I didn’t expect Kanata to wear such an outfit, but it’s all for laughs as long they don’t go overboard like K-ON! After they left of course, Kanata needs to go to the bathroom or she with her saying that “[she is]… going to wet myself…” With her saying that line, I couldn’t stop laughing because I just heard this out of her mouth. I know it’s wrong, but if she had to go to bathroom, she should of just gone… This makes you wish that there were cordless phone or even a cell phone. She was also so despite that she was thinking about doing it in the bucket, but she forgets that idea, until Rio is saved and she went to bathroom, where Noel was sleeping all day long! Even Filicia said that Kanata looks cute in the dress Kanata was wearing. I laughed. However, the phone call that Rio receives suggests that something serious might happen later on, saying:
Please! I want you to save this country! To save Helvetia!
Rio has explained earlier in the episode where the countries are having a peace conference and things aren’t going well. If we compare this to the peace conferences that happened in World War I where the treaty was never ratified or become in full effect, they faced another threat for another war. The feeling from the phone call and the news about the peace conference suggests that there will be in fact another war that will strike the countries again.
Another point that people forgot underneath the comedy is that Filicia and Kureha went out to send important documents. Hmmmm….
Another thing to note… The name that was mentioned last episode on the trumpet book that Rio gives Kanata. This makes you think a little bit that Rio have to have some relation to “Princess Iria.” We will find out sooner or later.
Overall, this episode was a good and enjoyable slice of life episode. I’m quite amazed on how they pull off this whole episode in the same room for the whole episode. Now with Filicia, Kureha, Noel and Rio seeing her in Kanata’s cute outfit that Yumina chooses, she might as well be embarrassed for life. However, expect things to get a lot serious next episode.

Yeah, surprised to see them shift from the more serious note last week, but this was a funny episode regardless. I’m guessing Rio is Irias sister and the call at the end is the archduke calling to beg her to accept some kind of political marriage to save the kingdom but well see…
