Well, there is one thing we know… War is bad…
This episode explores more into Filicia’s past, well when they are fighting a war between humans and machines. The tank Filicia when she was outside with someone else playing a horn gets attack and she fells out. Another instance when she is making one of those things for the festival, she accidentally cuts herself looking for another memory when she finds out her crew was dead and trying to escape, but fells through undergound building. Through that, she finds another soldier, which he eventually reveals the ruth. Filicia finally knows the reason why she should still exist, and she finally gets saved by someone who is called “Princess Iria.”
Regarding Filicia’s past… It really sad to lose your close friends in a battle, but people need to remain strong and keep living while remember your closed friends and their memories. Again, War is horrible and the only outcome out of it is life’s being loss and other consequences… which is a important reason why. Filicia still suffers from this post dramatic syndrome when this festival comes even years after the war, and I can understand because it’s difficult to treat.
However, the moment where Kanata, Noel and Kureha hugs Filicia, which is the most heartwarming moment in this episode…
However, there are a few interesting things about this episode… First this:
This makes me believe that machines have turned against humans… thus we have this war against machines and humans… like in the Terminator series… but It’s a wild theory, and yeah, the spider tanks are controlled by Skynet with their intentions of the machines taking over the whole world while wiping out the human population.
Another rather strange things on Filica’s part is this with the watermelons:
Actually… I’ve put on some weight this summer! If I don’t lose it,I might not fit into my winter uniform. I heard that if you only eat watermelon for a while, you can lose weight, so I thought I would try it.
And Rio is in disbelief after Filicia reveals this… and it was priceless.
Overall, this episode seems to be the best so far in the series… and guess what… no moe! Suck it, haters! :p One small thing is that the ED is completely out of place, comparable with Clannad After Story with it’s ED with two separate instances.
Verdict
9.4/10
