Thought it would be a mediocre season… For the most part, this is true since there isn’t much to see, but I did managed to pick up a few series that interests me, but I’m hoping to add two more at least by the end of next weekend when I post the second part. I was orginally going to post a Midseason report next week, but since Kobato. Ep 5 is not airing this week, I decide I would since I have nothing else better to do at the moment.
Note that this does NOT cover series that are not airing… meaning Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu First Season, Kannagi, sola and Air will not be in this impression.

Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu Purezza

I have already covered the first episode… but it wasn’t that good and is a big disappointment. Basically, you get a ordinary high school student named Natsuru who seems to have a crush on a girl named Kede Sakura… He is chosen as a Kampfer and must turn into a girl to use his powers… In a battle with another Kampfer, his life is turned upside down and Sakura seems to like his Kampfer form instead of his male form…
Kampfer like I mentioned before had a good concept for Genderbending anime, but again… the execution is severely flawed… What we get is a male who sorta sound like a girl (don’t know why, though) and alot of fanservice… which is more evident in the later episodes when we get the cosplaying scene in episode 5. This pretty much turned me off and the toilet jokes… Seriously, though… no wonder is not rated so high… because it’s not that great…
Overall Rating: 6.4/10, D, Dropped after one episode.
Kobato.
Kobato is one of those CLAMP series… and it was pretty good with good animation and enjoyment… There isn’t much I have against it, except Kobato is pretty naive and does stupid things… which reminds me of Yui from K-ON!, but not nearly as bad…
Nothing much to say, but it’s pretty good… if you don’t care about moeblobs, but I heard it gets more serious towards the end. =p
Overall Rating: 8.7/10, B+, Very Good with 4 episodes
Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu Purezza
It’s a continuation of the first season of Nogizaka Haruka… So far, the have shown us a hot spring episode, another convention episode, Touka the Tsundere, Christmas Episode, and a Maid and Butler party which Shutto gets his ass kicked by all the maids and butlers for bullying Alice-chan.
So far, it’s enjoyable but the most glaring flaw shown in the 3 episodes is the use of fanservice, meaning the type 2 fanservice which haven’t been used as much in the first season. Episode 4 gotten to the point where fanservice is at the highest level which I would say, Diomedea is having a field day with it… but they shaped up with the latest episode… so no complaints. Fanservice is the big flaw in this season, but hopefully they will get back on track and give us the best that the first season shown us.
Overall Rating: 7.88/10, C+ with 5 episodes, Still watching.
Overall, it wasn’t as bad of a season as I expected… Thus… It’s time to show the pretty chart of comparing all the ratings from Episodes 1-4
