Thoughts
Episode 7 is pretty epic and Gento going all out with his forces, choppers and hummers just to get Haruka back… again, Otaku hobbies are pretty much not accepted as much in Japan as shown in this episode since most who are Otaku have a negative stereotype of wanting to fall in love with figures and 2D girls, playing video games and anime/manga, not doing that good in school and also staying at home most of the time (which Otaku means, house in Japanese). Yuuto lashing out at Gento and defending Haruka’s shows that he isn’t like most male leads which are complete jerks and losers, but caring in a sense to Haruka’s hobby and well being which will further develop their relationship with each other… Ironically, it only took Gento’s wife to calm Gento down.
Episode 8 was pretty funny… just think about Tomoya going out with Sunahora’s sister, Mei…. it’s just like that, but with Yuuto and Mika and they do stuff what people normally do on a date such as going to the movies, going to a cafe and attending some kind of event… Sadly though, Shiina now gets into the competition with Yuuto as they are organizers for the cultural festival… I don’t know how that will play out… but who knows?
Verdict
Episode 7: 9/10
Episode 8: 8.5/10
I know that for me, this is the point in which the show really starts going downhill. One of the aspects of this show that I have difficulty with is how mindless it feels and that there’s never any genuinely good character moments.
Glad to know that you seem to be enjoying it more than I have though.

I know where you are getting at… This is a reason why some people don’t like mindless shows like K-ON! since they don’t have a real plot line that can compared to more storyline orientated stories like Clannad or sola for that matter.
I do enjoy mindless comedy shows like this because it’s something that can be enjoyable instead of crying a bucket of tears (not that it’s a bad thing), but there are alot worse shows out there such as Queen’s Blade and Kampfer that is not so appealing to me since it’s mostly unwatchable… I will be writing my thoughts about Kampfer next since I have been only reading about it and storywise, it’s not great at all except girls going after Natsuru and a huge pile of fanservice in Episode 5 seems to outclass the second season of Nogizaka Haruka, in my opinion is average because the amount of fanservice compared to the first.
