Not much development in this episode, but Matsuri seems to do stupid stuff like demonstrated above… It makes me wonder, should I even bother with Kobato after watching this?
Synopsis
After Yorito saw what is happening at the church with Matsuri and a strange man, she escapes and hides. Knowing the man is there, he tries to attack him, but Matsuri uses a strange power to create a obstacle to protect herself. After the strange man dodge the falling platform, Matsuri was hiding and took something and pops out. Then the strange man took the rod and throw it and she jumps and throw something which caused a bright light and made her fell somewhere. Knowing the strange man have failed his mission, Yorito runs to find where Matsuri have landed. After he found her, he took her back to the room. He tried to touch a spot in her hand, but something came off that made him surprised. When she woke up, she thanks him for saving her and pats him on the head. Wanting to do something in return, she tried to cook something and tried to stuff the metal bowl with vegetables into a microwave and try to turn it on, but couldn’t. She insits that kicking it will make it turn on, but Yorito tries to stop her, but ends up getting hurt. Meanwhile, Mana notices that Yorito was missing from school. Matsuri soon reveals that she is not human, but a Yaka, a ageless monster by trying to put the finger in the sunlight. In the hopsital, Aono seems to be acting strangely.
At his house, Matsuri wanted to go back to the church even though it’s not safe… This worries Yorito… Then, he gets a phone call from Mana saying that Aono wants to go back home that made Yorito worried and he ran quickly to the hospital. While he was gone, Matsuri wrote “bye-bye” on one of his pictures. When he returned, he noticed that Matsuri was missing and when he saw the message, he got upset and ran to his room, but actually sees Matsuri in his room and wants to see the real sky someday… and promises.
Thoughts
Not much development, but we learned more about Matsuri… Matsuri’s knowledge of the ouside world can compare to Kannabi no Mikoto from Air… They seem to have simular characteristics, but the only thing is that Matsuri is not a tsundere… also they are both not normal humans… I can say… but realizing that Matsuri is not a human means one thing… the outcome after this whole ordeal when it’s over does not look good… which is a big bummer…
It makes me wonder, if Matsuri is going to continue doing stupid things, should I even bother with Kobato since the main character does stupid things as well… I’ll leave that up to you…
Verdict
8.5/10
Yes! Matsuri’s mishaps are cute. Mishaps are cute, and cute characters should actually say the word ‘mishaps’ accentuating the ‘sh’ ^^
Kobato on the other hand, she is silly, but the VA and the characters expressions are really cute.
Ah, you’re watching Sola. I loved it! It’s one of those series that can only be appreciated as a whole story rather than individual episodes. Hope you enjoy it =)
