This episode continue’s Haruhi’s quest to make a movie with the SOS-dan. The SOS-Dan continues to film in the park and Mikuru-chan does her famous Mikuru beam…
Synopsis
Haruhi decides to film in the shrine and attracted alot of doves which surrounded Mikuru. With that recording, Haruhi shoots the Air-soft gun and the doves go flying, but it caused someone to notice, so they ran away. After lunch, they rerecorded the battle scene which Mikuru does her Mikuru-beam at Yuki, but causes her to shoot a beam out her eye which almost hit’s Kyon, but Yuki protects him and it hits the board Itsuki was holding. Then, Yuki runs and tackles Mikuru and injects something which stops the beam from Mikuru’s eye and took out the contact. When Haruhi notices that the contact was missing, they go off finding it, but couldn’t find it. Not being able to find it, Haruhi decides it was a transformation and force changes Mikuru in the bunny girl outfit.
While Mikuru have her clothes change again, Itsuki and Yuki explains the situation about Mikuru shooting beams from her eye which isn’t the result of the contact, but because Haruhi wanted the Mikuru Beam to exist. Soon after, Haruhi and Mikuru returned and they recorded more shots and at the end of the day, they went home to prepare for another day of shooting.
Next day, the SOS-dan called on Taniguchi, Kunikida, and Tsuruya. The only problem is that Mikuru was missing due to the incident that happened the day before. After realizing that, Haruhi became angry and calls a taxi to pick up Mikuru forcefully. While they were waiting, Yuki reveals that she injected a nanomachine which stops Mikuru from shooting beams from her eyes. Few moments later, Haruhi returns with Mikuru dressed in her Waitress outfit and they decide to do the next scene at a pond near Itsuki’s home.
Thoughts
This episode was predictable, but still enjoyable… but we know that Haruhi is even a bigger b*tch in this episode like always since it’s Sighs after all. The Mikuru-Beam scene was probably the best part of the episode, but the rest of the episode was just… outrageous.
The bad thing is… Tsuruya-san now got K-ONified the new art style which didn’t really fit well that much… I’m pretty much dissatisfied with the art style have been going… Is the SOS dan planning to make a band and eat cake and drink tea all day? That style just makes me thinks that and makes things less desired… Besides from the usual art style complaint, this is still a good episode.
In case of point, there is only two episodes left, which makes people disappointed since there is no Disappearence… yes we know… this so called “Second Season” is a big let down, for several reasons: K-ON like art style, not-so-great opening theme, repeating of Endless Eight 8 times, being trolled by Kadokawa several times and no new content outside of Rhapsody, Endless Eight and Sighs. Let’s hope the Third Season don’t turn out like this, if there is one…
Verdict
7.8/10
Super Trollin’ haha. Yea, that Tsuruya/K-ON! design is really noticeable from that shot. O.o
“this so called “Second Season” is a big let down, for several reasons”
I couldnt agree more with you…I just hope They can throw us a good surprise after the big deception on the second season…
I think that Bamboo Leaf rhapsody was as good as it got in this 1.8 new season.
I was expecting them to at least do something for change because Sights is something we should’ve already seen plus it’s lacking what makes this show great. *Sigh* two more episodes left..
I miss the old animation too. Bring it back.
Yes, I know it’s frustrating that this season is meeting our expectations, but… they should have at least done better, but it fells short of our expectations for the reasons I mention.
and I seriously doubt the old animation will be back in the new episodes… since the animation staff have change since three years ago.
wait what? not so good opening theme? well i suppose its no bouken desho desho.. but still, super driver is a pretty awesome song. i notice i only like aya hirano’s songs when its related to haruhi.
I would have to disagree.. I thought Super Driver was horrible… and didn’t met the expectations of the first season’s opening theme…
I’m not too fond of Hirano Aya’s singing, she isn’t really cut out to be a singer… most of her songs except the ones in the first seasons made my ears bleed.
