In Yukito’s search to find the “girl in the sky,” he finds out more mysterious things about the three girls in this town.
Synopsis and Thoughts
Is Misuzu the girl in the sky? Yukito heard the story from his mom, but not able to get the full details since his mother died before she told him. Misuzu said that it would be great to have wings and then she runs around pretending she had wings.
When Haruko arrived at home, she threw a stuffed sloth for Yukito to use as a puppet.
After talking for awhile, Misuzu started to become drowsy. When Haruko offered Misuzu to have Misuzu sleep on her lap, but she declined and went to sleep. Then she asks Yukito if Misuzu said “Gao~” again and then she explains why Misuzu start saying it because she thought that baby chicks are dinosaur babies, but unable to buy one and ever since then she kept saying it for every single thing that upsetted her.
The next day, Misuzu wakes Yukito up and he brings him to school. Afterwards, Yukito tries to do a puppet show in front of the kids, but failed miserably because he was unable to control the sloth properly. As he was about to punch the puppet, Potato appeared and then imitated the puppet.
After a woman talked to her patient, she came over and ask why Yukito is sitting near her place. As Yukito tries to get away, she pulled on his hair and asks why Potato is having a fit. Kano then appears and asks why is he talking to her older sister.
As Yukito’s talents are impressive, Kano’s older sister said that he won’t make much money and offered him a job. She introduces herself as Hijiri, and she is the town’s doctor and offers him a job at the clinic.
You might be wondering what is flowing noodles. Here is some explanation:
Some restaurants offer flowing noodles (流しそうめん nagashi sōmen) during the summer. The noodles are placed on a long flume of bamboo the length of the restaurant which carries cold water. As it pass by, people used their chopsticks need to get it quickly. The noodles that reach the end aren’t eaten, so they are pressured to get as much as they can.
Kano always wanted to have flowing noddles, so they have for lunch, although Yukito wasn’t able get some because he is at the end. Before Yukito leaves, Hijiri asks he was going to come back at the same time tomorrow, but he asks about the pay before committing himself. Then, she offers him to do the puppet show after work. While he was walking, he bumped into the cart of rice. After realizing that, he helped the woman push the bag of rice to her car. Then, the woman offered him a cracker although he didn’t want it.
After work, he sat on the sea wall and tries to move the puppet, but moved fitfully again. Then, a young girl ran over and huged the cute sloth. Then, he asks the girl if she was lost and he handed her the cracker and she at it. Misuzu appears and asks where the girl came from. Then, Misuzu asks the little girl’s name and then takes her back to her parents.
After that, they return to the sea wall and Misuzu explains about her dream. Yukito asks her if she had wings, but she said that she didn’t notice it.
Since his shirt was being washed, Misuzu lended him a shirt although Yukito disapproves it.
Since Hijiri made lunch, she have him deliver it to Kano so they can eat together, but threatens him if he eats it all for himself. While waiting at the school gate, Yukito imagine having a large crowd of his fans. Then he hides Potato so the school won’t be in panic. Then, three girls appear and he asks where is Kano. After asking where she is, he goes on the roof of the building where Kano stood.
Afterwards, Kano and Yukito have lunch on the roof. While eating, Kano asks if he could fly in the sky like a bird and he said he couldn’t. Then Kano reveals that she want to fly to the sky.
While Yukito walked down the street, he was attacked by Michiru. Then, she takes his puppet and calls it filthiest thing ever and he didn’t take care of it. Afterwards, she ran off with it and then Yukito chases her.
After being chased by Yukito, she stops in front of Minagi. After that, Minagi sews the puppet so it looks like new and hands it back to Yukito after she finishes and it seems that it’s a manifestation of a memory. With Yukito’s stomach growling, she hands a coupon for rice to Yukito.
After that, Misuzu and Yukito walks to the shrine. Yukito wants to leave, Misuzu begs to play with him. After Misuzu sees fish, she wants to catch fish and she actually goes in the river to catch fish.
Afterwards, Yukito plays with her… Afterwards, Misuzu tells Yukito that it’s her birthday. Then Yukito goes off and gets a present. After standing at the night, he shows a puppet show to a man and he gives a box which Yukito brings home, which is a birthday cake.
After eating cake, Misuzu and Yukito hang out at night, but notices that Kano is acting strangely. Then, they follow her to the shrine and a large light flashed.
Overall, I thought the episode was done well, yet again… entertaining yes, but although the pacing is fast… it was filled with some enjoyable moments… Not to mention, the Kanon cameo is a epic win…
