For the fourth part of our Journey, I challenged the next two Gym Leaders while confronting Team Plasma once again… (Image Source)
After arriving in Nimbasa City (ライモンシティ), I decided to beat the next Gym Leader. Before I can challenge Elesa (カミツレ), I had to go through the electric rollercoaster, which is her former gym. Once I reached the end and talk to that woman at the end, this is when the gym opens up.
As you would expect, her gym looks like one of those runways/catwalk you see in those fashion shows. Before I can challenge her, I must battle three trainers before one. Everyone in her gym carried Electric Pokémon.
For the Gym Battle, Elesa remained unchanged from the last game, except for that Flaffy. Even so, I had a slightly rough time in defeating her last Pokémon, Zebstrika (ゼブライカ) but it was still manageable. With that, I finally won the fourth badge.
Unfortunately, Team Plasma is back and blocks the way to the next city. After defeating them, the Rival reveals that Team Plasma took his present Pokémon away from him. Now he is seeking to get it back from them.
Once he finishes telling his story, we head to the next city. Before I can proceed, I had to beat this biker in a Rotation battle. In Pokémon White 2, you will get into a triple battle. The big difference between the sequels is that there are more triple and rotation battles, although they are still rare.
If you haven’t go outside of the west gate in Nimbasa City, Bianca will show you the Hidden Hollow. These are secret places placed along routes where you can get a Pokémon with a hidden ability or an item. It has a 5% chance of replenishing every 256 steps.
When I arrived at Driftveil City (ホドモエシティ), I confronted two Team Plasma grunts 1, one from the old and the other, the new. They seem to argue about something. Shortly after, my rival comes and punches the new Team Plasma grunt and chases after him. Then, old one offered to take me to their hideout and I did. Once there, Rood challenges me. He is one of the Sages who have repented himself from his former actions. After the Rival accuses him for having Plasma steal his little sister’s Purrioin (チョロネコ), he apologizes by giving N’s Zoura to me.
With the fifth gym, it’s full of belts to ride on. The trainers had Ground-type Pokémon, which made it an extremely easy battle since I trained a Glaceon named ちはや. As for the battle against Clay (ヤーコン), his Pokémon is exactly the same, except that Palpitoad is now replaced with a Sandslash. I literally swept all his Pokémon with the insanely powerful Ice Beam.
Lastly, there is the Pokémon World Tournament. This is a new addition to the game, which allows you to challenge various trainers and Gym Leaders from previous games. Like the Battle Subway, you earn Battle Points from each successful win. In this one, I fight against my rival, Cheren and lastly, Akuroma.
Since this post is rather long, I’m going to break it off here. Next time, we invade the Team Plasma ship, go through the cave and challenge Skyla for the sixth Gym Badge and possibly the next one.

Some Notes
- For reference, the “old” Team Plasma is still looking for N while the new Team Plasma aims for Pokémon Liberation while taking over the world. ↩
