Remembering Love: Clannad After Story Part I

May 9, 2012 by chikorita157 11 Comments

I know it’s late, but I decided to take part in trzr23’s new project called “Lets us Remember Love.” This is where we rewatch our favorite Anime and talk about it. When I came across some of these posts, I see why not even though a few days passed.

If you seen my about page, I listed some of my favorite anime. However, there is one in particular that influenced me the most since it’s the first title I blogged about when I began my Anime Blogging career. That show is of course Clannad After Story. (Image Source)

What Makes a “Good” Anime?

April 9, 2012 by chikorita157 9 Comments

In a perfect world, most fans would enjoy all the anime that gets produced. Sadly, this isn’t the case since we do not know what the show will give us until we watch it. This leaves us with the usual remark, “It gets better, I swear” which is frequently used as a defense. I’m a firm believer of that because any show can have a potential of becoming good. This leaves us with the question, what exactly makes a good anime? I will explain just that along with my experiences.

Anime, Blogging and Life – Enjoying and Managing Time

February 21, 2012 by chikorita157 12 Comments

In this week’s editorial, I decided to take up a topic in the blogosphere that is relatively important with any Anime fan: “How does one fits time to watch shows while juggling with college or work?” Given that I have managed to survive three years and made over 830 posts about Anime, you wonder how the hell I manage that when college gives you a lot of work to do. I’ll share my experiences on how I find free time to watch shows and blog while doing well in college. (Image Source)

Anime and Video Gaming: How they changed everything…

February 7, 2012 by chikorita157 8 Comments

Like Anime, video games had played a big role in my life after I was introduced to it during my childhood. After some thought, I felt the need to share my experiences with video games and how it influenced me to watch Anime since these two mediums are closely related to each other. Not surprisingly, most anime fans are probably gamers as well. (Image Source)

Journey of Self-Studying Japanese – Casual (Short) Forms

February 4, 2012 by chikorita157 2 Comments

Despite finishing the grammar in the first book, I have to admit that I fell behind because I played too much Idolmaster 2 instead of studying Japanese. Since the spring semester started about three weeks ago, I’m playing catch up and hopefully I can cover lost ground. Either way, this self-study progress will only focus on the short/casual forms.

2011 in Review – Top 10 Anime and Blogging

December 31, 2011 by chikorita157 7 Comments

Before I go overboard with video games and completely forget about the year-end post, I may as well do it now so I can bring in the next year on a high note.

Although 2011 was a very eventual year with a big Earthquake in Japan that occurred in March of this year and some disasters that hit close to home like Hurricane Irene and the October Snow Storm, it was a very good year for Anime. While noitaminA had many disappointments, there have been some great shows, most notably Madoka Magica, which aired earlier this year. So for a further ado, I’ll share my thoughts about the year as a whole and some accomplishments. (Image Source)

Journey of Self-Studying Japanese – Tackling Verb and Adjective Conjugations

December 4, 2011 by chikorita157 3 Comments

From last time, I shared my first hand experiences of self-studying the Japanese Language last month. Another month passed by and I have learned quite a lot, most namely one of the intimidating aspects of the language, verb and adjective conjugations.

Experiences of Self-Learning Japanese: First Observations

November 2, 2011 by chikorita157 10 Comments

Up until now, I have only spoken English mainly because somehow in my childhood, I decided not to attend Chinese school. Sadly, being monolingual is painful because now I have become interested in playing The Idolmaster, which is only in Japanese. Not only that, I wanted to prepare myself for the future since knowing another language looks better on the résumé opposed to just English.

Since I have motivated myself to self-study the Japanese language, I memorized all the Kana along with two lessons (currently on the 3rd) in one month. Through my experiences, I found the beginning rather easy to grasp. Thus, I share my experiences thus far. (Image Source)

The Reason why I Anime Blogging and the Social Experiences

July 29, 2011 by chikorita157 10 Comments

In the past few weeks, there has been some discussion on why fans decide to blog about Anime. It’s true that blogging takes time and dedication, but there are many reasons why people continue to do it.

For me, I have been blogging for nearly 2 years and a half now and I have my own reasons for blog. I decide to do it not for popularity, but to enhance my experience as a fan of Anime. (Image Source)
