A few weeks back, Yumeka shared her unpopular Anime opinions which got me thinking, what are my unpopular opinions? Since I don’t necessarily have 10 unpopular Anime opinions to share, I will also cover some video game related stuff too. (Image Source)

The Best and Worst of 2012 Anime
As 2012 finally comes to an end, I felt that this year is rather subdued for Anime. Although there were some Anime that received some rave reviews that I didn’t watch, I was still satisfied by what I have already watched. Not only that, I only dropped one show this year compared to two in 2011. Still, there were some disappointments, which I want to go over.
For now, I will list my top whatever lists of best Anime in 2012 along with some disappointing/worst ones. (Image Source)

Reasons for Dropping AKB0048 and Thoughts about Eastern Asian Idols (Updated)
From the look of things, the reasons I dropped AKB0048 didn’t satisfy some people since I was full of rage after watching the second episode. After taking some time to let it settle in, I would like to share some thoughts on why I dropped it and my thoughts about the idol craze in East Asia that is going on in the past few years. (Image Source)
Note: Added additional thoughts regarding Idol Production Companies taking full control of the girls’ lives. (Originally published May 19, 2012)

Twelve Days of Anime – Part I (Days 1-6)
Christmas is almost here and to celebrate it, I’m taking a look back at the first 6 notable events that grabbed my attention or surprised me. This includes Fractale, Ore-tachi ni Tsubasa wa Nai, Hanasaku Iroha, Working Second Season, A Channel and Gosick.
If you don’t know what this project is all about, I highly suggest checking out the prelude. (Image Source)

Best of Spring 2011 Anime Music
During the Fall 2010 Anime Season, I have taken a brief look of some the opening and ending songs I heard from the shows I were watching. Since I only covered a few shows last winter like Madoka Magica, Hourou Musuko and Fractale (Gosick is left out since the ending theme single came out in the spring), I decided not to focus on it. However, I have published a full review on Madoka Magica’s opening song, “Connect” at Anime Instrumentality and you should check it out!
For the Spring 2011 Season, there was a good number of opening and ending songs I liked. Out of the songs that released and listened to during spring, I liked “secret base ~kimi ga kureta mono~” (Ai Kayano, Haruka Tomatsu, Saori Hayami), “Scarlet Knight” (Nana Mizuki), “Hazy” (sphere), “Scarlet Ballet” (May’n), and “Spread Wings” (Aki Misato). For each song, I will share my thoughts about them briefly. (Image Source)

Dropped: Ore-tachi ni Tsubasa wa Nai – Thanks but no thanks…
After watching 8 episodes of Ore-tachi ni Tsubasa wa Nai, I am really crazy to continue watching this show this far while everyone else in the blogosphere stopped at episode 2 or even late as episode 6. The reason I kept watching is the cute girls in the show. However, when somebody asked why I am still watching this with the addition of a rather disturbing scene in Episode 8, I said enough is enough. I’m finally dropping this show once and for all! Ore-tachi ni Tsubasa wa Nai – Episode 7 – *Insert Overused Cake Joke Here*
The cake is a lie! Garuda (also known as Karura) wasted them on his so-called war against mankind!
I know… the cake jokes from Portal are hammered to death by now, but I just cannot resist.

Ore-tachi ni Tsubasa wa Nai – Episode 5 – Hawk Cyan Blue’s Fantasy World of Confusion
It seems that Takashi has been out of the spotlight for a long time that we must find out his lovely relationship with Asuka or rather, Princess Asuka and Hawk Cyan Blue.

Ore-tachi ni Tsubasa wa Nai – Episode 4
For the past few days, I stopped posting since I have to study for three rather important exams. As a result, I fell behind in so many shows. Since exams will be completely done after Wednesday, I will be spending most of my time catching up on my backlog and playing Portal 2.
As for Episode 4 of Ore-tachi ni Tsubasa wa Nai, I have to admit that it was definitely a step up compared to the last three episodes as they finally cleared up the situation with the male leads. Of course, the loli makes a well-deserved and brief appearance.

Taste Test Part III – Ore-tachi ni Tsubasa wa Nai
Episode 3 cannot possibly get any more disappointing than the last episode. Sadly, the episode was extremely boring and unexciting that I practically fell asleep…

Spring 2011 Season Taste Test Score Card
With the taste testing of Spring Anime is coming to a close, I want to share my thoughts wrapped up into one sentence for every show I taste tested. For shows that debuted last week, it will be updated once I watch the second episode. (Image Source)

Taste Test Part II – Ore-tachi ni Tsubasa wa Nai
This show cannot possibly get any more confusing and duller than this…

Taste Test Part I – Ore-tachi ni Tsubasa wa Nai
With a show like Ore-tachi ni Tsubasa wa Nai that is based off a Visual Novel by Navel, you can foresee what will happen in this episode. If you guess gratuitous amounts of panty shots and fanservice, then you are correct!

Rio: Rainbow Gate! ED Review – Miracle Chance
I have told everyone that Rio: Rainbow Gate is a really bad show not because of the fanservice, but the complete randomness. If the overall premise of the show is horrible, how about the music? Besides the opening theme, I took a look at the ending theme sung by ULTRA-PRISM, whom also created the Ika Musume OP. Sadly, “Miracle Chance” did not live up to my expectations since it felt so dull that it would put me to sleep. After reviewing it, I have absolutely no motivation to listen to the opening with the assumption that it would be absolutely mediocre too.
Next time, I’m going reviewing a good single instead of reviewing bad ones… Perhaps Kalafina’s Magica or something that would be enjoyable to review.

Winter 2011 Anime Season Taste Test Score Card
Since the taste testing of the Winter 2011 Anime is coming to an end, the winter season is actually decent. Out of the 15 of so series that were airing, I decided to watch Madoka, Gosick and Hourou Musuko. In addition, I also tried out Rio: Rainbow Gate, but it didn’t turn out that great. (Image Source)

Taste Test Part I-II – Rio: Rainbow Gate! (SCCSAV Livewatch)
Many people in the blogosphere have been talking about Rio: Rainbow Gate, one of the shows some consider to be “so bad it’s good”. Do I agree with them? Not really since I watched the show with Roghek from the SCCSAV over Skype. Overall, my impressions about the show went south. The show was so bad it was terrible because there are so many fundamental problems with it, which I want to share.
Just to be clear, I am criticizing the show based on the two episodes I have seen, not bashing it.

End of the Taste Test – Yosuga no Sora is too Risqué!
I rarely drop anime that I am currently watching since the flaws are usually insignificant to warrant a drop. Unfortunately, I have to drop it because I could not take the Yosuga no Sora seriously since it feels so trashy.

Fall 2010 Anime Season Taste Test Score Card
With the taste testing of Anime coming to a close, I want to share my overall thoughts about all the Fall 2010 Anime I have tried out. Compared to last year, I tried out a total of 5 series, which is up from three shows from last year. Most of the shows mainly consisted of comedy slice of life shows, which is not shocking at all considering it’s my preference for Anime after all. 1
