Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon S – Episode 10 – Kanna Goes On Vacation in New York

September 8, 2021 by Chikorita157 5 Comments
Yep, Kanna is really in New York City.

Apparently, Kanna became upset at Kobayashi and decides to go somewhere. Of course, she decides to fly to the biggest city in the United States.

It seems that Kanna feels excited to be in a new place. Notice that Tohru is there in the background.

It’s unfortunate, but something that Kobayashi or Kanna said caused Kanna to become upset. Either way, she ran away from home and found herself in the biggest city in the United States. Believe it or not, it’s New York City, which of course looks almost like it does in real life. Of course, there is a small glimpse of the four boroughs and of course, New Jersey.

Kanna doesn’t realize Japanese yen doesn’t work in America.

I find it cute how Kanna become amazed by Time’s Square. Of course, I find it funny how she becomes hungry and try to buy a hot dog with Japanese yen. The funny thing is that Kanna couldn’t understand what the worker was saying. That is until she used her magic so everything she hears will be in Japanese. Sadly, this doesn’t help her since she only has Japanese yen. Besides, even if she exchanged it to dollars, she would still be a bit short on money.

Only a poke is enough to defeat those thugs.

As Kanna walks down a street in New York, she sees a bunch of gang members chasing after a blonde-haired girl. Kanna wonders what is wrong to the girl. Kanna eventually deals with the gang members by poking all three. Yep, she defeated them instantly as the girl stands there in awe.

Chloe finally introduces herself.

Thankfully, Kanna brings the girl to safety. The girl’s name is Chloe and she is from Minnesota. I don’t know why they picked Minnesota out of all places, especially given how rich she is.

Chloe flexing with her famous “black card.”

When Kanna takes her to the hot dog stand, Chloe whips out her Black Card. Yes, it’s supposed to be the American Express Centurion card, the charge card that rich people have that has no limit. Sure, it amazes the worker by how much flex she has, but he doesn’t accept credit cards, only cash. While Chloe has cash, I must admit I don’t carry any cash and pay everything with credit cards.

I find it cute how Kanna imitates Riko.
Kanna impresses everyone at skateboarding.

Aside from that, Kanna and Chloe had some fun sightseeing New York City. Yes, Kanna even tried skateboarding, which she is a natural pro. It’s obvious that they become friends as Kanna also admits that she is also friends with Riko. It’s funny how Kanna tries to imitate Riko’s famous reaction. Still, I wonder how Riko will react if Chloe comes to visit Kanna in Japan. I have a feeling that Kanna will still favor Riko over everyone else.

Of course, when evening comes, Kanna says that she needs to return home. As expected, she finds out that Chloe like Kanna ran away from home.

Despite Kanna revealing her true identity, she saves Chloe.
Tohru knew all along.

Before Chloe can reveal the truth on why she ran away, the kidnappers got to her. That is until Kanna saves her by using her dragon from and attacked the perpetrators. Kanna flies Chloe back home to Minnesota before returning home. They also exchange addresses. Of course, Kanna finds out that Tohru also looked after her from the distance while she was in New York City. I guess Tohru was that worried.

Yep, Kanna accidentally spilt her drink.

In the second half, Kanna spent time with Kobayashi. The funny thing is that Kobayashi had a day off thanks to finishing her “death march.” I can see why Elma really wants to unionize.

It’s nice to see Kobayashi having some bonding time with Kanna, after Kanna got upset at her.
Yep, they have a ice cone date.

Either way, there are some cute moments as Kanna accidentally spilled her drink on her Kanji workbook. Kobayashi eventually takes her out to buy tea and I find it cute how Kanna becomes fascinated with manhole covers. Sure, they got stuck in the rain, but it eventually ended. Either way, it’s obvious that Kanna had a lot of fun with Kobayashi.

EP 10 of Season 2 was the first episode which reminded me of Season 1, mainly because it was just so Kawaii and much slower paced than others this season. Most of Season 1 was truly adorable, and so was this adventure into the cleanest New York I have ever seen.

Agreed and of course, New York looked impressive, which is not too surprising since it’s Kyoto Animation.

Also, I noticed you unfollowed the blog today. If this is because of the statement I said in my recent post, I apologize as I didn’t intend to make this remark to call out specific people or offend them as it’s only part of my analysis. I sometime make these mistakes as I am only human.

Please reconsider, but if you don’t decide to, I understand and it’s unfortunate. If so, I hope you enjoyed my content during that time and I am sad to see you go.😔

Precious Kanna episode is precious as expected. Hope we get a face to face between Riko and Chloe before the season ends.

Yep, it’s what I have expected, but I hope that this will happen at some point, but we’ll see.
