Happy Sugar Life – Episode 4 – The Sugar-Coated Lull Before More Craziness

August 4, 2018 by chikorita157 3 Comments

As expected, it seems that Shio is traumatized by her mother somehow.

Shio is in danger while two men beats up Taiyou. Will someone come to the rescue?

From last time, two men started beating up Taiyou as revenge. This reminded Shio bad memories until a mysterious woman appears. This time, her face is revealed and she looks fearsome. This gives Shio a feeling that her mother doesn’t care about her. Shio calls for help and eventually Satou came wearing a hoodie.

Satou lures the two men until she tased one of them and attack the other with her bag. Afterwards, she stabbed both of their eyes of the two men as punishment. Satou brings Shio back home safely. She eventually installed extra locks while Shio is sleeping.

The next day after school, Satou arrives at work. The manager plans to close early because of rumors of an attack that happened yesterday. That night, Satou spends time with Shio. After Shio went to sleep, Satou continues to clean the locked room before going to bed. Meanwhile, a coworker of Satou smells her apron as she becomes lovesick for her.

Satou lures the thugs into her trap.
They are totally screwed now.

From the looks of it, it seems that from the bad experiences with blood. This reveal one thing that happened to Shio. Shio’s mother is messed up too and she probably physical abused Shio. Still, we don’t know for sure. Thankfully, Satou came and dealt with those thugs. Satou gashing their eyes out is probably worse than death. On the bright side, they won’t be able to harm Asahi ever again.

As expected, Satou’s aunt isn’t normal either.

From a flashback about Satou’s aunt, she has a similar personality to Satou. At a young age, she teaches Satou her idea about love. Whether or not it contributed to Satou’s idea of love is to be seen, but it definitely influenced it.

One of the rarest sweet moments in the series is right here.
More happy Shio hugging Satou.

Either way, the moments after Shio woke up on Satou’s lap was sweet. It looks as if things are going to be alright for now on. Not really since Satou installed additional locks. It’s obvious that she doesn’t want a repeat of what happened tonight. After all, she can’t let Shio leave the house and put herself and Satou’s Happy Sugar Life in danger again. That or Asahi finding his little sister can destroy it too.

Still, it appears that Shio won’t tell Satou that she saw blood that terrified her. It must be her mother that causes the PTSD, which is understandable. Yet, she still yearns for her mother as seen with the drawing of her on the closet wall.

Shuko is too good for this show. In an alternate universe, Satou and Shuko might work.

That said, there is some sweet moments. Obviously, Shouko might have a thing for Satou. She seems worried about what happened recently that she wants to marry Satou so she can protect her. It doesn’t come at a surprise given that Satou’s old enemies, namely the perverted teacher might reappear someday. Also, there is Taiyou being creepy as well. This makes me wonder how will Satou deal with them given that she can’t simply eliminate them. Sure, Satou has a sizable amount of savings, but that can only go so far.

The mystery behind Shio yearning for her abusive mother continues.
Another challenger appears!

Now there is another person that threatens Satou’s Happy Sugar Life. This time, it’s one of Satou’s co-workers. We don’t know her name yet, but she definitely has a thing for her as she smells Satou’s article of clothing. It seems that Satou can’t catch a break from others trying to divert her attention away from Shio. ¶

Nightmare Mama is scary to say the least.

Remember kids, never touch, especially threaten, a yandere’s love interest…or else.

    Poor Shio has many demons.

Looking forward to the battle of the yuri yandere.

Yes, Shio’s mom is scary. Still, I wonder why Shio still draws pictures of her.

But yes, never mess with Satou, it’s a very very bad idea.
